One of the most effective ways of learning to stay in the moment is
through meditation. There are umpteen ways to meditate and this
month I would like to introduce you to 5 different ways that I have
personally explored.
Walking/mindful meditation- this type of meditation can be done
while walking anywhere. It means to help you pay attention to your
limbs as you walk and each step where it steps, and also to pay
attention to nature as well. Basically it means to pay attention to
everywhere but the chatter in you mind and to go home with a clear,
refreshed outlook.
Guided meditation- this is for those who may need assistance to staying in the moment or to reach a certain place or feeling within the
meditation.
There are some amazing meditations which including helping you
relax or reach a place of forgiveness or acceptance. I have developed
a meditation CD especially for reaching the spirit world.
I call it Heavens Gate and I guide you through the Chakra system, up
to the crown chakra and then to Heavens Gate where you will meet
your spirit people and unite for a short time before being guided back
down.
There are seven chakras beginning at the base (around your backside)
which is associated with the colour red, then the sacral chakra which
is represents creation or creativity and is associated with the colour
orange. Followed by the solar plexus chakra (that gut feeling), which
is yellow, and the heart chakra , which is the colour green.
Apana Mediation: Apana meditation is simply observing the breath
and nothing else. You need to get yourself in a comfortable, seated
position, and in a place where you will not be interrupted. The idea is
to simply breathe in through the nostrils and out again.
Every time your mind strays, simply go back to observing the breath.
It is recommended you sit as long as possible in this state. Even a 5
min session will give you the break you need from the stresses of life.
Vipassana mediation – Vipassana meditation is undertaken at a
Vipassana center and is a 10-day silent mediation. However, once
learned, you can utilize it whenever you want. It is basically observing yourself without moving. As you are sitting in mediation pose you
begin at the top of your head. If you feel an itch you just acknowledge the itch without scratching and continue down your body to
your ears, face, neck chest etc. until you reach the tip of your toes.
What you find by only observing the itch on the top of the head that
by the time you reach your eyebrows the itch is gone.
This meditation is very effective at teaching all that rises passes away
including pain and happiness, anxiety and excitement.
The throat chakra is all about communication and is associated with
the colour blue. The third eye chakra is situated between the eyes
and is associated with the colour purple.
Finally, the crown chakra is associated with the colour white. The
crown chakra connects you to heaven, and the base chakra connects
you to earth. These chakras actually represent your ethereal body’s
energy centres.
My Heavens Gate meditation encourages you to shake off your earthly worries at the gate, and spend some time in the soul land/heaven/
spirit world. You may feel very emotional when you reach this place,
and your loved ones, or you, may take a few times to get the effect
you desire. Either way it is a positive experience for all.
Even if you fall asleep in an untroubled way it is working for you.
On my CD, I also have a relaxation mediation which goes for about 10
minutes, and helps you unwind after a difficult day.
These are all a state of mind bought on by any one moment in time
and will only last as long as you allow them too.
The Heavens Gate meditation goes for about 25mins. I recommend
you do these mediations in a quiet room where you will not be
disturbed.
The 10-day retreat starts with 4 days of Apana and then the rest is
Vipassana. This is not for the light hearted but is one of the most enlightening and effective retreats I have done for myself. I no longer
allow myself to dwell on any sadness for any great length of time.

I have a lot of positive feedback about my CD. If you wish to purchase
one you can do so by going to the link below.
Scroll down to the bottom until you see the picture of the CD.
You should have it within 10 working days.

Chi Gung –although this is an exercise, it is breath-focused. While
you are focusing on the breath, you are in the moment and that is
important. You are focusing on new positive breath in and old negative breath out.
I hope you have enjoyed this piece about meditation. I hope I have
inspired you to go within to a happier healthier you.
This is a very effective and gentle way to clean out your negative
thoughts.
Until next time,
Namaste (may the spirit in you meet the spirit in me)

Ask Charmaine
Do you have a question for Charmaine?
Email: [email protected]
Q: Hi Charmaine, a young friend & I were studying in an anatomy lab last night, touching real bones and it
got me thinking about the people who donate their body to science, what they did in life etc. Knowing that
they were once living beings and they freely give their earthly bodies to be dissembled and studied/played
with, does their spirit still associate with their bones?
From Jackie Blowers
Hi Jackie
From all accounts from spirit they do not associate with their body at all anymore once they transition to spirit, which is immediately.
They will explain to me how they passed but they do not hold onto anything earthly or physical including houses, money, possessions or
their body. If they freely donated their body to science I presume they had a great reason for doing so and in fact would be proud to see
students learning from and hopefully finding cures or ways to help mankind in the future.
So you can rest assured that you are not hurting or upsetting the spirit in fact you are complying with their wishes and that is a good thing.
Q: The recent be-heading of James Foley has unset me greatly. I cannot come to terms that people can be so cruel and I just feel sick thinking of the pain he felt when his head was cut off. He also seemed so calm. Can you please help me understand? You could say it was karma
but he didn’t deserve to die that way, did he. Was it pre-ordained or just bad luck?
From Rosalyn Thurecht
Hi Rosalyn
Food for thought this one and I have to say heavy thoughts indeed. First and foremost you need to understand James Foley was dealing with
a terrorist and from what I understand part of their ‘terror’ was to take James Foley out, threaten to behead him and then they would take
him back to the prison.
I do not know for sure how many times, but this might explain why he looked so calm. He really thought he would be taken back to the prison
again.
As with most sudden deaths I would expect the spirit left quickly so all thoughts and emotions tied to that moment of death would have also
started to transition to spirit and no physical pain would have registered for more than a split second.
I am not in a position to say whether this was a karmic situation or not but have no doubt in my mind it was his destiny. If it happened it was
destined. He was always going to die that way. I hope you understand that. If he weren’t meant to die that way, he would still be alive. That
is destiny.
It is indeed unsettling times in our world and I urge you not to focus too much on the negativity it is creating and especially do not focus on
James Foley and now more beheadings. Strive to see them in an untroubled place far away from the terror they may have felt. That is the
kindest thing you can do for their spirits. Fight terror with kindness – it is the only way.

Pedro’s Corner
Hi my name is Pedro and I am Charmaine’s Sugar Skull.
I travel all over Australia with Charmaine, Pat, Miller
(the bulldog) and Stella (the shih tzu).
Charmaine’s son Jack, bought me for Mum on Mothers
Day 2012, just before we went on our first tour on the
tour bus.
He wanted to make sure someone kept a close eye on
Mum, and that is exactly what I do.
Each month I will be telling you how it really is on the
road.
We are back on tour again after a short break at home. Poor Patrick
and Princess Charmaine went on a cruise and forgot to take us!
I must say I am ok with it but Mellow Miller and Queen Stella really
get quite put out by their absence.
In fact when Poor Patrick is driving this voice come out that apparently
belongs to Queen Stella that sings and babbles incessantly to Mellow
Miller and Poor Patrick.
She is driving us all insane!
Once again the time came to reload the bus and back it down the
driveway. This time it went off without a hitch and as I sat in my travelling box I noticed Princess Charmaine put someone in my old place
on the dashboard.
Right before tour, Princess Charmaine had to go to Sydney for an overnight trip without Poor Patrick and the house was deathly quiet, the
dogs both looked for her with a sad face and Poor Patrick and I just sat
there and smiled. How blissfully peaceful it was!
Princess Charmaine told me I was not allowed on the dashboard because I might break, but she has allowed Bacon boy and Roly Poly the
bulldog there and now a newbie, Hootie the owl.
Yes it is strange and what is even stranger is that occasionally this
madness rubs off on Poor Patrick and this voice comes out of him that
sounds oddly like Queen Stella with a male Dame Edna voice. And
even stranger when that is the only accent we hear all day from either
of them. It seems Queen Stella has quite a lot to say to us all!
It makes me jealous in a way because I don’t get the best view from
my travelling box.
Anyhow so this tour is a long one and at times it feels like the towns
just blend together. It’s sometimes hard for Poor Patrick and Princess
Charmaine to remember where they were last week but I know where
we were last week, we were in Rochester and Poor Patrick and Princess Charmaine went to town to have lunch. They walked as it was
not far and I could not believe my eyes when they came back.
They had a bag with things in them and the dogs and I were excited till
we saw them.
They had bought more new dash people to travel with us! I am shattered because now they have Kentucky Duck and Butterfy sitting on
the dash and I am still not allowed on it.
The dash in my opinion is looking trashy with all those imposters happily turning and bobbing!
I am not the only one disgusted. Queen Stella is too. She told me she
would get them. I watched from my travelling box as she fliped them
off the dash. One by one. She hates them and that makes me love her
more.
So we are on the road again and myself, the dogs and Poor Patrick
started thinking Princess Charmaine is a bit cuckoo.
This is down to her strange habit of changing Stella’s name. We are
all so confused. She has now taken to calling Stella Lilly! She has had
several names now including Chickylee, Stinky Lee, Deloola, Chicklata
and now Lilly.
Poor Queen Stella, she must get so confused but she seems to answer
to all of the names. But it looks like Lilly is her favourite.
One thing that confused me about the naming of the imposters was
that Poor Patrick and Princess Charmaine call the Butterfy – Butterfy
and I asked Queen Stella why?
She whispered in my ear a secret...
When Poor Patrick and Princess Charmaine published the tattoo oracle
cards there was a misprint on one card – you guessed it The Butterfly
card was misprinted and every Butterfly card is actually printed Butterfy.
I can see the way Poor Patrick and Mellow Miller just sigh when they
hear yet another name for Stella but that’s just the way it is.
Not much they could do so instead they make fun of it.
The same way as the sign on their bus says Dream catcher Motorome
and not Motorhome – haha!
The other strange thing Princess Charmaine does is sing to Stella in a
voice that sounds like Dame Edna Everage.
I laughed and laughed when she told me that because now we have a
butterfy in the motorome!
Now I know she can sing ok at times but she claims to be singing for
Lilly (Stella, Chickylee or Deloola) and nothing is in tune and nothing
makes sense.

Guest Interview - Scott Podmore
Scott Podmore is a renowned and highly respected travel, food and music
journalist. He put together the bestselling biography of great Aussie rock
‘n’ roll legend, Jimmy Barnes, and regularly contributes to numerous
publications worldwide.
His fascination with the topic of mediumship came after a personal encounter which left him with more questions than answers.
So he went on a search to have the conversations he was longing to have,
with those ‘in the know’.
He did that… And got much more than he was expecting from the experience.
Tell us about your book, Conversations With Mediums
Conversations With Mediums is the result of almost three years of research
and interviews with some of the world’s most famous mediums and psychics, and some who are little known but just as fascinating. Thirty mediums
were interviewed, 12 were chosen for the book including the very talented
you, recently rated as one of the top 10 mediums in the world according to
many respected lists. The book covers areas of trance, mental mediumship,
psychic abilities, electronic voice phenomena, physical mediumship and
more. I chose a very carefully considered list of questions for each interview
exploring matters of precisely how the communication process works for
the mediums with those in spirit, suicide, how babies represent as souls, how to pick a charlatan, what lays ahead in the future in a psychic
sense and so much more. It’s a broad range of mediums from all around the world including John Edward, Tony Stockwell, James Van Praagh,
the Psychic Twins of New York and Lisa Williams. I started writing a book with death and fear specifically in mind but it didn’t take me long to
realise this project was all about love and faith. The messages that have come through are profound, thought-provoking and it’s about taking
the subject seriously at a time there’s definitely a universal shift taking place and a bridge is being built between science and spirituality.
What are some experiences you’ve had with after-death communications?
I have faded memories from childhood, but know certain things must have been happening because there’s a deep sense of spirit being
around, or knowing it was around when I was younger. But I guess it’s mainly from having experienced astonishingly accurate readings on a
personal level in doing this book, especially from you Charmaine! Many readers have commented how your chapter reached out to them the
most, especially when you floored me with details about my loved ones and managed to get the names of my children and all sorts of other
compelling validations that literally took my breath away. Seriously, I’ve got news for the sceptics: whether you believe it or not, I’m telling you
that experience was the real deal, I absolutely no doubt and I’m not naïve. There were some fascinating things that happened, too, during the
séance I attended in Sydney with David Thompson and the Circle of the Silver Cord, that still have me scratching my head. That sort of experience is really hard to process, especially when there were voices bouncing around the room, lights, temperature changes and others there
incredibly emotional saying they were 100% convinced loved ones came through. It was a freaky kind of experience, but I don’t want to judge
because perhaps it’s just my mind-limiting conditioning that blocks me from comprehending exactly what took place and what was happening.
How have you found solace amongst the grief of death?
Going within more, I guess, and continue loving the people who love me. Meditation too. I’m not really a religious guy, although I like to take all
the good stuff from all religions, blend them with my own spiritually inclined ideas, then put my hand on my heart and say everything’s going to
be all right.
How did you connect with Charmaine?
I discovered Charmaine on the TV show The One. I loved her down to earth approach, and realised she was a more sceptical kind of medium
with a gorgeous Australiana kind of charm about her. I couldn’t wait to interview her - and also have a beer with her! I love her, she’s funny and
a great woman who smacks you between the eyes with her insights. And I love her bulldog.
What have you learned from her?
One thing I’ve learnt from Charmaine in my journey as a writer and researcher of the subject of mediumship, the afterlife and the paranormal
is to look very closely at it and be prepared to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Also to know my loved ones who have passed are still connected.
What advice can you share with others who are experiencing grief in their lives?
I guess the one thing I would say is try not to put pressure on yourself and know it’s not an exact science and your grief is very unique to you,
something you have to find a way to manage through some of the fantastic resources we have out there. And don’t pressure yourself about
how you “should” be feeling. Go to your heart and run with what feels right and helps you navigate your way through this life which obviously
wasn’t meant to always be easy. The other advice I’d like to offer is to ‘believe’. We may lose them here in this experience, but they remain with
in some shape or form and while most of us can’t understand it properly, just have faith. I believe there’s a beautiful ending when we come to
pass – and also a beautiful new beginning for whatever it is that lays ahead.
What made you decide to go on your journey of uncovering people’s stories of after-death encounters?
My own curiosity in finding my own truth, my own faith, and the fact I know there are billions of people who feel the same way.
Where is your book available and how can people stay in touch with you?
My book is available from my website www.conversationswithmediums.com where I’ll send
you a signed copy with a personal note, or you can buy it from most good book stores and several
online places like Amazone, Barnes and Noble, Booktopia etc. If your book store doesn’t have it in
the chances are they will be able to get it in within days.
Also, everyone’s welcome on the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/conversationswithmediums
where I post regular updates, blogs, and we have some great ‘conversations’.

Signs From Spirit
Dreams
Dreams are one of the most common ways our spirit people communicate with us. If they appear in a dream it means they are visiting you.
If they say nothing, that is absolutely normal, however if they speak you, write down the words when you wake up, as they will have some
relevance to you life in the near future.
In dreams, they may look sad but they could be mirroring how you look to them. Do try and smile more.
Sometimes in your dreams they may continue to ‘die’. They may appear happy, get sick and then pass away again. This can be stressful but it
may be their way of telling you they are physically gone now and to stop wishing it were another way.
What you watch on TV before bed sometimes may have an influence on your dreams as well and you may find your loved one playing a bad
guy. If this happens try to remember what you were watching or feeling before bed, as your spirit people would not ever wish you harm.
If you have not dreamt of your loved ones, and others have, it may be your emotions blocking them from coming into your dreams. It a
tricky thing grief and dreams are just as elusive and if you cannot or do not dream of them, do look for signs in other ways. It does not mean
they love you less, it just means for some reason they are having trouble connecting to you in a dream state.
Personally I love my nighttime adventures with spirit, and hope you do too. Hopefully by smiling more and staying in the moment, your
dreams too may become a lovely way to reunite.
