GETTING STARTED
iLead provides students the flexibility to choose workshop sessions on various
communication and leadership topics that align with your individual interests and schedule.
HERE’S HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
• Register online at http://students.ucsd.edu/go/ilead/
• Start attending workshops! At your first session, ask for an ‘iLead Stamp Card’ and start collecting
stamps. Most workshops are worth 1 stamp, but select events are worth 2 stamps.
• Collect 10 stamps to complete the program.
• For more information on submitting your completed iLead Stamp Card, please visit the Center for Student Involvement, on the third floor of Price Center East.

Leadership for Introverts

This workshop will show you that introverts can make excellent leaders. Students will learn about different
leadership styles, working effectively in teams, intentionally using your skills, and the advantages of being an
introvert. If you consider yourself an introvert, then this workshop is for you!

greater self-awareness and social-awareness. In addition, the seminar will help you develop techniques to understand other
people who are different from you, which can lead to collaboration, better engagement, the development of stronger bonds,
and trust. Lastly, participants will also learn how to suspend their own judgment and become better strategic thinkers!

come up? If you answered yes, then you want to participate in this fun interactive training on alcohol
education and bystander intervention. Become a “Floatie” and learn some new ways for keeping friends afloat at
parties (all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion/Card, special goodies and T-shirt).

Many leadership, professional, and career opportunities require that the successful applicant know how to protect the
confidentiality of another person. Employers frequently ask questions regarding an applicant’s ability to keep information
confidential. In this workshop, participants will explore what kinds of information are typically considered confidential and
discuss practical ways that information can be protected. Students will role-play how to assure another person that the
information they are providing will be kept confidential and how to describe limits to confidentiality. Finally, students will
practice articulating their knowledge of confidentiality to a potential employer.

Current students need more than good grades to impress employers and be competitive in their job search. They need
practical experience in their chosen field and it’s always helpful to have contacts. The purpose of this interactive course is
to give students practical tips for adding meaningful experiences to their resumes. This includes the importance of having
a well-rounded college experience, finding volunteer opportunities and internships, presenting your past experiences as a
story to be told, the benefits of networking on-campus, and how to break the ice. If you want to learn all this and more, then
please come!
