Students wishing to specialization in Political Economy and Global Social Change (PEGSC) must answer three questions to the satisfaction of the current examination of the committee. One question will be a general question, and will derive entirely from readings on this list. The remaining two questions will reflect the substantive research interests of the examinee. In consultation with the PEGSC committee, students will select 50 readings from the general reading list. In addition, they will develop two additional readings lists consisting of 50 readings each. Students may use readings from the general reading list on the specialized list, but cannot use them to satisfy the quota for the general list. Students will receive examinations on a Friday, and examinations will become due the following Monday. Classical Theory 1.
