ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
DAY WALK: Vaughan Mineral Springs – Golden Gullies Circuit – a 16 km
walk in the Castlemaine Goldfields area. Gold in the diggings and golden wattle
SKI / WALK BASED AT THREDBO: Staying at the YHA Hostel at Thredbo
Nordic skiing or day walks. Bookings / Deposits essential.
BIKE RIDE: Broadmeadows to Sandringham via Moonee Ponds Creek Trail
and bayside trail. About 40 km of good riding on bike paths
SOCIAL: Movie and dinner – Waverley Cinema and Café 54. Have a night out
with friends
DAY WALK: Mount Cannibal Flora and Fauna Reserve– a native orchid hunt
in this small but scenic reserve in West Gippsland.
DAY WALK: Sunbury Heritage Walks – explore the area’s historic buildings
such as Rupertswood, the old mental asylum and others.
BASE CAMP: – Southern Grampians – Join Peter in an exploration of some of
the marvels of the Southern Grampians
DAY WALK: St Kilda to Sandringham – about 12 km along the foreshore –
beaches, cafes and pubs along the way!
DAY WALK: Belgrave to Lilydale Railway Stations. A 27 km walk including
the Hamer Arboretum with superb views of the Yarra Ranges.
TRACK CLEARING: Condons Track near Healesville. An opportunity to
“give something back” Talk to Tom about the arrangements.

CUP WEEKEND: PACK CARRY – Upper Jamieson River, Mt Clear, King
Billy 1 & 2, Lovicks Hut, The Bluff, Upper Jamieson River.
CUP WEEKEND: BASE CAMP: 7 Mile Flat on the Howqua River – Day
walks to Eagles Peaks, The Bluff, Ritchies Hut, etc. depending on weather.
DAY WALK: Anglesea Heath Walk – a 12 km circuit – includes one of
Victoria’s prime wildflower areas as well as a stretch of beach at Anglesea.
WALKS SUB COMMITTEE MEETING: Planning for our next program
FEDERATION WALK WEEKEND: Based at Rawson Village with options
of motel or lodge accommodation and meals package. Bookings open 1st July.
SOCIAL: Taste of Melbourne – Graze through your dream tasting menu on
the lakeside lawns of Albert Park at the Taste of Melbourne festival
DAY WALK: A visit to the historic Coranderrk Aboriginal Cemetery near
Healesville followed by a walk in the Maroondah Reservoir area.
DAY WALK: Andrew Hill Circuit in the Kinglake National Park. 12 km of
good walking through the forested Wombelano Block of the N.P.
SOCIAL: A night at the Opera - Opera Australia – Don Pasquale (Comedy) –
On a date to be chosen by those interested. Contact Sophie for details
BIKE RIDE: City - Upfield trail and return via the Merri Creek Trail. Approx.
40 km of riding on trails in Melbourne’s north.
DAY WALK: One Tree Hill (Fern Tree Gully) to Olinda and return. Up to
24km of tracks and trails through the Dandenong Ranges.
DAY WALK: An 8 km circuit from Upper Ferntree Gully including The
Thousand Steps and One Tree Hill. A ramble through the forest close to town.
WEEKEND WALK – PACK CARRY: Wilsons Promontory – Telegraph
Saddle, Waterloo Bay to camp at Refuge Cove - return via Sealers Cove.
DAY WALK: O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail. Follow a section of abt. 15 km on
the historic aqueduct, meandering through pristine forest near Warburton.

DAY WALK: Mt Alexander (near Harcourt). A 9 km circuit though the granite
boulders and open forest of the Mt Alexander Regional Park
CHRISTMAS PARTY: The Club’s biggest social event for the year. Make a
note of the date on your calendar now. More details closer to the event.
DAY WALK: Reids Tramline (Powelltown area) – a 6 km circuit through the
mountain ash forest near Powelltown to visit the site of Reids Mill
PRE CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST AND WALK: The annual get together
over breakfast followed by a short walk.
CHRISTMAS – NEW YEAR PACK CARRY – Australian Alps Walking
Track - Dead Horse Gap, Cascade Hut, Tin Mine Huts, The Pilot and return.
Approx. 66 km of alpine walking.
CENTRAL AUSTRALIA: Peter Matheson is planning a car trip of several
weeks to Central Australia around May – July 2015. Talk to Peter to register
your interest.
