Course Information
The purpose of this conference is to provide the pediatric/family practice primary care, pediatric specialty
care, and pediatric acute care nurse practitioner with
current clinical information and updates in health care
law.
Course Outcomes
 Apply clinical judgment through the use of case studies and current research
 Explain pathophysiologic concepts related to various pediatric
diseases and anomalies
 Discuss methods to encourage professionalism, advocacy, and
critical thinking in regards to the Affordable Care Act

Karen’s clinical practice is at the Children’s Health
Center of San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH).
The Children’s Health Center serves as a diverse,
low-income, immigrant and non-immigrant
population of infants, children and adolescents.
Her practice is focused on serving Latino children
and their families. The position is partially funded
through Spanish waiver grants targeting bilingual
providers and the delivery of culturally appropriate
care.

Contact Hours
Up to 6.5 contact hours will be awarded to RN’s who attend all day
