Queen candidates sought
Hoopeston Jaycees are looking for candidates for Miss
Hoopeston 2015. Candidates must be female Hoopeston
Area High School graduates between the ages of 18-20.
A mandatory informational meeting will be held November 29, with the judging process on January 3, 2015.
Deadline for turning in applications is 5 p.m. November
30. Applications must be filled out electronically at
www.hoopestonjaycees.org. Rules and expectations
are also posted on the website.

Coat drive
Hoopeston Area CUSD #11 is coordinating a coat
drive to keep our students warm this winter. Sizes
needed range from children to adults. Only new or gently used coats will be accepted. No tears, stains or missing buttons, please.
Coats may be dropped off daily through Friday, Oct.
17 at Hoopeston Area Middle School office (closed
Monday, Oct. 13) and Hoopeston Multi Agency, 206 S.
First Ave.
Several area churches will also collect coats for this
drive through October 19.

Police News
Alexander L. Davis, 50, of Hoopeston, was arrested at
11:20 a.m. Tuesday in the CVS parking lot, 805 S. Dixie
Hwy.
He was charged with disobeying a police officer and
released on a notice to appear in Hoopeston City Court.
