The Onsite Admissions Program will be held on October 23rd at Eden Prairie High School. This is an
exciting opportunity for you to apply to a maximum of two colleges and be accepted on this
day. This booklet contains information about all of the participating colleges. Application
information and check lists for the colleges will be available in the Career Resource Center
(CRC) once school begins.
The Onsite Admissions Day is a service that provides structure and may reduce the anxiety that
could accompany the college search and application process. Many of the colleges
participating on this day are willing to adjust their usual admission practices and will admit EPHS
students based simply on their ACT scores and GPA. Every senior, regardless of their GPA or test
scores, can be accepted to a college on this day.
It is important to note two things: 1. Colleges raise the bar for this day. So, even if you do not
meet the criteria the college has set, you are encouraged to apply the traditional way. 2. Even
though you may be accepted to a college on this date, you are not obligated to attend this
college and may spend time applying to other, non-participating, colleges.
How do you participate in Onsite Admissions Day?
1. Review the list of participating colleges and onsite admission requirements in this booklet.
2. If you meet the minimum requirements for onsite admissions, pick up a checklist in the
CRC in September.
3. Complete the application process as instructed on the checklist.
4. Request a copy of your transcript and schedule from Student Center South for a fee of
three dollars.
5. Return the completed checklist and materials to the counselors in the Student Center
East on October 7th or 8th from 7:30-3:30 and sign up for an October 23rd appointment
with your chosen college(s).

On-Site Colleges’ Minimum Admission Requirements
October 23, 2014
By graduation, students applying onsite on October 23rd to four-year colleges, will need
to have completed 4 years of English, 4 years of Social Studies, 3 years of Math through
Algebra 2, 3 years of Science, 1 year of Fine or Applied Arts, and 2 years of a single World
Language.
If you meet the minimum requirements for the following Colleges, you may apply to a
maximum of two.
Augsburg College

ACT: (or SAT math/reading equivalent) of 23 or higher
AND

GPA of 3.3 or higher

Note: We will not be able to review applications for the School of Music or The Theatre School at
the On-Site because of the interview and/or audition requirements for those programs. If you are
interested in one of those programs, please apply through the traditional process. Applications to
the School of Music are due by December 1 st and applications to The Theatre School are due by
January 15th. In addition, DePaul has implemented a test-optional policy for students applying for
freshman admission. You can choose to apply with or without ACT or SAT scores. If you choose to
apply test-optional, you are required to submit answers to several short essay questions and will
need to apply through our traditional Early Action or Regular Notification deadlines. Test-optional
applications will not be considered at the On-Site.
DePaul University is the largest private, Catholic institution in America, founded by the Vincentian

the highest consideration for merit scholarships), and our regular deadline is February 1 st. In 2012,
the average GPA for admitted freshmen was a 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, and the middle 50% of admitted

 The Hamline Assurance: First-year students at Hamline University may enter into a
partnership with the institution to ensure completion of their bachelor’s degree within four
years. This could represent a potential savings to you of $40,000 to $60,000 in tuition and
lost income. Should Hamline fail to meet its responsibilities and provided the student
fulfilled her/his responsibilities, the university will provide the additional course or courses
needed to complete the degree in the following academic year--at no additional tuition

Hennepin Technical College

Successful completion of Eden Prairie High School’s graduation requirements
Hennepin Technical College is a two-year state college. The mission of the college is to provide
“Education for Employment.” As a technical college, the main focus of our education is “hands-on
training.” Our students spend about 30% of their time in classroom setting, and about 70% of their
time in a lab environment where they receive practical experience in the area they are studying.
At Hennepin Technical College, we offer over 45 different programs for students from which to
choose.
Some examples of unique/popular programs are the following:
Audio Production, Photography, Culinary Arts, Nursing, Dental Assistant, Computer Careers,
Accounting, Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, HVAC, Architectural Technology, Fluid Power, Automation
Robotics Engineering, Auto Mechanics, Small Engines, Auto Body, Child Development, Fire
Protection and Emergency Medical Services.

We offer Certificates, Diplomas, Associate Degrees and Associate of Applied Science Degrees in
almost all of our programs. If a student completes a two-year AS or AAS Degree from Hennepin
Technical College, there are a number of opportunities to transfer to a four-year college/university
and receive a Bachelor’s Degree in just two additional years. We require students to complete our
Placement Testing, which consists of basic reading, writing, math and computer literacy
assessments. The test results will indicate to us what the appropriate level coursework is for each
individual. The testing is completed at one of our campuses and is not pass/fail.
Iowa State University
A Regent Admission Index (RAI) score will be calculated for each applicant, based on the
following equation:
(2 x ACT composite score)
+ (20 x high school GPA)
+ (5 x number of high school courses completed in the core subject areas through senior year)
Note: For purposes of calculating the RAI, SAT scores will be converted to ACT composite
equivalents; high school GPA is expressed on a 4-point scale; and number of high school courses
completed in the core subject areas (English, Math, Science, Social Science and Foreign
Language) is expressed in terms of years or fractions of years of study. Students must also have 2 of
the 3 following science courses: Biology, Physics, & Chemistry.
Applicants who achieve at least a 200 RAI score and who meet the minimum high school course
requirements will be offered admission. Applicants who achieve less than a 200 RAI score and who
meet the minimum high school course requirements may also be offered admission, but should
send their applications to ISU traditionally through the East Student Center. Those applications will

Minnesota students with an ACT composite of 27 or higher and a cumulative high school GPA of a
3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) automatically receive the National Scholars of Excellence scholarship valued
at $12,500 per year--$50,000 over four years (eight semesters) of study. Students who don't meet this
criteria are automatically considered for annual awards of $10,000 and $7,000. Other financial aid,
including need-based aid, is available and is awarded based on results from the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). More than 91 percent of Michigan Tech students receive financial
assistance.

The New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) program at River Falls helps new students become
successful and well-oriented members of the campus community. They assist new students as they

transition to and through college by sponsoring programs and services that connect new students,
transfer students, and their families with the UW-River Falls campus community. They facilitate
communication and develop connections that provide new students with the information,
resources, and support they need to be successful at River Falls and beyond.
Student Support Services: The SSS program on the campus of UW-RF is a TRIO Program funded by
the United States Department of Education with a yearly grant of $278,292. SSS is designed to assist
first generation, low-income and/or students with disabilities in pursuit of a college degree. The

Stouts campus is located in Menomonie Wisconsin, just 60 miles east of the Minneapolis-St. Paul
metropolitan area. You can enjoy year-round recreational activities including water and snow

Merit Scholarships
Western offers highly competitive merit scholarships to attract the best and the brightest from
Colorado, across the US, and internationally. For the 2013-2014 academic year, out-of-state award

The Central Plains (CP) Tuition Discount Program
The CP tuition is a substantial savings relative to normal, out-of-state tuition. Students eligible for the
CP program will be charged 150% of Western’s total in-state tuition. The tuition discount was valued
at $4,518.00 for the 2013-2014 academic year. If you are a permanent resident of Minnesota and
you are accepted to Western, then you are automatically awarded this tuition discount (CP will
not be combined with merit scholarships).
Undergraduate information at a glance:

Location: Gunnison, Colorado. Western is 4 hours from Denver, 3 hours from Colorado
Springs. We are only 28 miles from Crested Butte Mountain Resort (with a free bus ride from
campus) and 41 miles from Monarch Mountain.

Programs of Excellence: Western offers a full range of majors including: education,
psychology, business, natural sciences, and the arts. Because of the university’s high
mountain location, it is also able to offer degrees in: Environment and Sustainability,
Exercise and Sports Science, and Professional Land and Resource Management

Experiential Learning: In addition to undergraduate research opportunities, Western has a
Career Services office that assists students with internship placement, career guidance
and planning, graduate school preparation, interview skills, and job search resources.

Diversity: The 2013-2014 class has been the most diverse in Western's history. This year,
enrollment of incoming freshmen reported a total Non-Caucasian proportion of 23% and
Hispanic & Multi-Race of 16%. All 50 states, and international students, are represented by
Western’s student body. The Multicultural Center on campus celebrates and honors the
diversity of people and cultures in and around the Gunnison community.

Small classes: Average class size is 17 students; Student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1 (with 90% of
professors having attained the highest degree possible in their fields of study).

Athletics: Western is an NCAA Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference. Various club sports, in addition to our Mountain Sports team (which
offers opportunities to compete in free-ride skiing, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, park &
pipe, trail running, and more), are also offered.


Winona State University


Winona State University is an affordable public liberal arts university located in Winona, MN
(population 29,000), enrolling approximately 8,800 students. The WSU main campus and local area
are scenic, featuring beautiful bluffland facing the Mississippi River. WSU is a laptop and tablet
university on a wireless academic campus. The comprehensive digital life and learning program
includes PC or Mac laptops and IPad mini tablets (replaced every 2 yrs.), software, technical
support, training opportunities, printing, and insurance. WSU offers over 80 different undergraduate
majors, 10 pre-professional programs, 200-plus registered student clubs and organizations, and
Division II athletics. Student to faculty ratio is 20 to 1, and average class size is 26-30.

Our students enjoy opportunities such as undergraduate student research, internships, travel study
and study abroad programs, and WSU-sponsored outdoor education/wellness experiences. WSU’s
Integrated Wellness Center, completed in 2010, includes spacious fitness and health facilities for
general student use. On-campus student housing options include traditional residence halls, suitestyle living, and apartments.
WSU was ranked second among public universities in Minnesota in the 2013 edition of “Best
Colleges” by U.S. News Media Group, and the Princeton Review has included WSU as a “Best
Midwestern College” for many years. WSU also receives national recognition for community
