Connect with Us: www.facebook.com/stjamesunitedchurch Church News & Notices FROM YOUR BOARD & VISIONING COMMITTEE: St. James has received a letter from St. Andrew’s United Church indicating their interest in amalgamating as partners with one or more United Churches in Peterborough. Our Board and Visioning Committee have replied thanking them for their invitation and letting them know that our Visioning Committee will be considering all possibilities as they work with the congregation of St. James to determine our vision for the next few years. The letter from St. Andrew's and our response are posted on the Bulletin Board outside of the Sanctuary. Thank you ... Jitterbugs PLAYGROUP KIDVENTURE! Ages 4-11 & Ages 12-15 Sundays: 9:30am - Noon Monday Morning 9:30 - 11:30 am AN UPDATE FROM YOUR TREASURER: Despite our $20,000 loss last year (and similar prediction for this year), we are well ahead of the 2013 figures and will hopefully finish this year with a surplus! Even though we had our usual deficit for the summer months, we didn't have to borrow money to get through the summer; we can't recall when this last occurred. There was more good news for September; we had a surplus of $2800 for the month. This brings our YTD deficit down to $17,000 compared to a deficit of $38,000 at the same time last year. Most of our receipt categories are up compared to 2013, except for "Givings" which are down by $2500. A full financial report is on the wall in the hallway at the bottom of the ramp ... Ron Horton, Treasurer CHURCH ENVELOPES & PAR If anyone needs church envelopes for their offerings, please see Ron Horton or Chantelle Dooley in the office.
