Dear Federation Friends,
Another year has come and gone! Some of us have been together in
the months past, but many of us look forward to our time together
in the fall. We hope you will come to Burlington to share, learn and enjoy your Federation
experience.
The Vermont Federation has many things planned for your enjoyment. There will be a spot
on the registration form to note if you are a first time attendee. If so, you have earned 10
$1.00 vouchers to use at the Marketplace!
The Sheraton Burlington Hotel has donated a gift certificate for a one night stay plus
breakfast for two at a future time. Any member who registers for both Friday and Saturday
night at the hotel is in the drawing.
A Halloween Costume Party is scheduled for Friday night. What do we think of when we hear
Halloween? UNICEF of course! There will be collection boxes at the dinner tables. So save
your change! There will be prizes for the prettiest, scariest, most original and maybe a new
category! The entertainment that night is DJ Mike and Karoake! Now that’s a party!

As you know, each year each State Federation may have a table to sell not more than two
items. Please notify Joyce Lindamood at [email protected] if you would like a table.
The Region will be having their annual Basket raffle. Each state will donate a filled basket
that will be raffled. Tickets will be $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The theme this year is “Morning,
Noon and Night.” Also there will be our 50/50 raffle.
The Lund Family Center in Burlington, VT shares some of the same hopes and dreams we do
as clubwomen. Their three main goals are reducing child abuse and neglect, preventing teen
pregnancy, and ensuring every child has a loving family and secure home. GFWC of Vermont
suggests you visit the Lund Family Center website www.lundvt.org to see the complete story
and kindly asks that you consider a gift card donation that will certainly be appreciated.
Some suggestions are Walmart, K-Mart, Walgreens, and TJ Max.
GFWC Vermont has negotiated meal prices with you in mind. The dinners will be lunch size
portions that help keep the cost down.
Consider arriving in time for the Friday tour. At 9:30 a.m. the bus will pick up at the hotel
for a tour of the Shelburne Museum and Winery. Lunch will be on your own at a nearby
restaurant. There is a separate registration form for this – please mail it to Joyce Lindamood.
A bonus for everyone! Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 2, so we get an “extra”
hour at our conference! Please come to Vermont and enjoy our Federation time together.

The Room Rate is $139 plus tax for single/double/triple or quadruple occupancy.
Reservations should be received by the hotel no later than October 7, 2014 for
availability of rate. Early reservations are encouraged! Check-in Time: 3 p.m.; Check-out Time:
11 a.m.
Rooms must be guaranteed to an individual credit card or by advance deposit. The
cancellation policy without penalty is notification 7 days prior to the day of scheduled arrival.
If you do not stay the number of days you have reserved without 7 days prior notice, you will
be charged. No more than 2 rooms may be reserved on one credit card without advance
payment. Emergencies will be considered on an individual basis.
Shuttle service is available from the airport and from the Amtrak station in Essex
Junction. Prior arrangements required, call hotel phone number listed above.
