The registration fee includes programme kit, refreshments and

guest house at a nominal fee for the outstation participants. Normally

NIT-TRICHY OVERVIEW
The National Institute
of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT),
formerly known as Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli
(RECT) is one of the finest universities started by the Government of
India. RECT was started in the academic year 1964-65 and has been
imparting quality education ever since. In 2003, the institution was
granted Deemed to be University status with the approval of
UGC/AICTE. With the cream of engineering and management talent,
encompassing both students and faculty, coupled with state-of-theart infrastructure facilities, NITT today stands out as one amidst the

The Department of Management Studies (DoMS), NITT since its
inception in the year 1978 has served as a management hub for
aspiring students and is being recognized as one of the finest business
schools in the country. Through continuous commitment and
perseverance towards management education and innovation, the
department has come up with a program that has earned a remarkable
reputation over the years.
ABOUT MCA DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Applications, NIT, Trichy is one of the
pioneering departments of the institution that offers Information
Technology courses such as MCA and one among the top five,
offering MCA courses in the country. The vision of the department is
to establish computer science and applications center of excellence
for learning and research .It is committed to impart quality education
in the sub-fields of IT, a field growing in leaps and bounds. The highly
experienced faculty of the department provides a good theoretical
foundation through high quality teaching complemented by
extensive practical training. It is dedicated to the mission of
inculcating value-based, socially committed professionalism to the

PROGRAMME THEME
Data Mining applies machine intelligence and statistical tools to
extract novel, useful and meaningful patterns from huge amount of
data. Data doubles about every year, but useful information seems to
be decreasing. “Big Data”, an emerging concept refers to datasets
whose size is beyond the ability of typical database software tools to
capture, store, manage, and analyze. Big Data is now prospering in
the field of analytics. The Data Mining and Data Analytics
Workshop aims to bring together researchers from both industry and
academia to participate and get experienced to various aspects of big
data mining and associated tools by classroom learning and hands-on
experience.
Topics of coverage include Data analytics methods on Correlation,
Regression, Multiple regression, Logit regression, Factor analysis
and emotional intelligence. The theme of the workshop also
highlights on overview of Big Data Analytics, Data Mining and its
associated techniques like classification and Clustering algorithms
