Settings Menu
The settings menu is now called Administration.
Course Categories
The Course Categories menu is now expandable,
meaning students can go directly to the correct
course when enrolling.
Resource Editing Options
Options to edit resources are now accessed using a drop down
‘Edit’ menu rather than using the individual icons as in 2.4.

Text Editor
The text editor has now changed in all areas. Highlighted below are some of the
options that look slightly different.
Toolbar toggle, this hides or reveals all 3 rows of options in the toolbar
Toggle full screen mode
Underline, Strike through (example), Subscript (example),
Superscript (example)
Remove formatting: Removes any formatting copied over by mistake
Select background colour
Direction Left to Right and Right to Left: similar to Left or Right
alignment.
Insert / edit image
Moodle media: Select this icon to insert an audio or video file into a
‘Summary’ or ‘Label’.
Edit HTML source: this turns on the HTML editor which can be used when
working with HTML code.
Drag and Drop - Images
As well as the usual way of inserting images
(using the image button in the text editor),
you can now drag and drop and image.
Moodle will then give you the following
options. The first will embed the image in a
label, the second will add this as a file to be
opened.

Drag and Drop - Zip Files
You can now drag and drop zip files directly into Moodle. It will then give you the
below options.
The first will create a folder and add all of the files to it. The second will keep the
file as a zip for students to download, and the third will add the file as a SCORM
package.
Drag and Drop - Websites
URLs can now be dragged directly into
Moodle from Internet Explorer. To do
this click on the icon before the web
address and drag this into the relevant
section of Moodle. You will then be asked to give the link a name, and it will be
added as usual.
Drag and Drop - Text
Large amounts of text can now be added to Moodle using drag and drop. Simply
highlight the required text, and drag it into the required section. You will be
given the following options.
The first will add the text to the front page in a label like so…
The second will include the text in a separate page with a link on the main page
