If this sounds appealing and you would like a career in the mining industry, then we invite your application for a bursary: Bursaries at Assmang Iron Ore Mine Bursaries paying tuition fees, accommodation, meals and prescribed books, are available in the following disciplines: w Mining Engineering w Chemical Engineering The following selection criteria will apply: w Mid-year Grade 12 Mathematics and Science, both with a minimum of 60% or higher and/or students already in their 2nd or 3rd academic year of study at a university of technology or university; w A sound academic record (mid-year exam results acceptable for initial application and year-end results plus admission to the University of our preference required if amongst finalist); w Applicants already receiving a bursary or financial aid will not be entertained; w Admission at a tertiary Institution for 2015 is a pre-condition for applying for a bursary at Assmang Khumani; Preference will be given to: w The children of Assmang employees and pensioners; w Female students; w Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds with financial constraints; w Students from the Gamagara, John Taolo Gaetsewe and Tsantsabane Districts in the Northern Cape; Appointment Notes: w Short listed candidates will undergo an interview, psychometric evaluation and medical fitness assessment; w Contractual obligations will be communicated upon appointment.
