PARENT/TEACHER 3rd TERM REPORT MEETINGS SYSTEMIC TESTS Remember to arrive timeously (by invitation only) at your 3rd Term Report Meeting on Thursda y 17 October 2014 . The WCED provincial Systemic Tests for Gr 3 and Gr 6 Literacy and Numeracy will take place on Monday 20 October during the school day. Although these tests do not count toward a learner’s year or report mark, it is important that all learners are present on this day and do their utmost best. It is reflection on our school’s academic performance and is used to indicate where improvements can be made in the future. For the last few years we were the recipients of several academic awards for Numeracy and Literacy. BURSARY AWARD 2015 We would like to remind parents that our bursary will once again be awarded to a pupil who is currently in Grade 4, 5 or 6 for one year only. The bursary is equivalent to one year’s school fees. The child’s general attitude and achievement will be considered. Application: A letter of motivation containing your child’s details should be addressed to “Milnerton Primary School Bursary Committee” and handed in to the office. Each application will be scrutinized carefully by the Bursary Committee. No correspondence will be entered into. Closing date: Monday, 27 October, 2014 (No late applications will be accepted) SOAPBOX DERBY Friday 31 October 2014 Please ensure you have set aside the afternoon to participate/watch our fun fundraiser, which starts at 1pm on the above date. Foodstalls selling cooldrinks, pancakes, boerewors rolls and vetkoek will be available too. Classes will be competing for fastest times and most laps completed. The R1000 cash draw (as well as other prizes) will be drawn on the day. All draw forms (hopefully) completed must be returned with the money by Wednesday 29 October 2014 please. SUMMER UNIFORM Summer uniform may be worn now already, but is COMPULSORY from Monday, 27 October. Uniform is available from Rothmans in Goodwood (Tel: 021-591-3124). Please ensure that our Milnerton Primary uniform code is strictly adhered to. Short sleeved open neck shirts MUST have the MPS badge. Please note, sew on pocket badges are available from our school shop between 12:00 and 13:00 from Mon to Fri at the price of R15 each.
