MESSAGING SYSTEM
NEW SEASON OPENING
A good number of members celebrated the official opening of our
season. It was an honour for us to
have Ken Rogers open the season.
Ken was inducted into the Hall of
Fame this year. He rolled the first
jack and Mike Topham the first
bowl. An enjoyable meal followed.
We are happy to announce a
new messaging system has
been installed. This only works
for mobiles. If you
have a mobile and
we don’t have the number recorded on
ALL
our records, please let the office know.

UNIFORMS
Despite all the hassles our new uniforms certainly look very impressive. Nearly all members now have
their shirts & pants. Any remaining
ones should be here shortly. The
jackets also look really great. Their
have been many positive comments
from other clubs.
It is disappointing that some members have exchanged their items for
a different size by undoing an already labelled package belonging to
somebody else. This was not at all
considerate to those who have been
left without their uniform.
A BIG THANK YOU must go to theuniform committee—Marlene Hams,
Jennifer Hatcher, Di Poole, Mike Topham & Robert Peters. They have
spent many hours designing , ordering, packaging & distributing the
uniforms.
IMG DATABASE
This new database is now in operation. All clubs will be using this to
report the results of each game. The names of all playing members
in each side have to be entered as well as results. Of course to
begin with there will be teething problems. All results across the
state will be accessible on the website.
Thursday pennant results are being entered by the respective team
managers.
Saturday pennants need to have some IT literate bowlers to carry
out this task. Please see Mike Topham if you are willing to learn.
Each side needs to have at least one person.
SATURDAY PENNANTS
LADIES INVITATION DAY
As sandwiches are required for afternoon
tea each Saturday, could each side work
out a roster to assist making the sandwiches. Those sides playing at home need
to alternate. Perhaps
the team managers
could work out when
their side is responsible for making the
sandwiches and then
each side can then
work out their roster.
Our Ladies Invitation Day will be held on
November 18th. The Events Committee are asking for
help on the day. They are also looking for donations
towards the trading table of food, produce, plants,
books, craft but NO BRIC A BRAC.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CHARITY DAY
Plans are underway to hold a
Charity Brunch Day on January
11th 2015. If you remember we
had to cancel our last planned
day as it clashed with another
club’s event. This is a preliminary
notice at this stage but note the
date in your diary.
Please consider the use of lighting over the greens. If the
lights are turned on over some lanes and you wish to
practise, use the rinks near the these lights instead of going to another rink and then turning that set of lights on.
The lights are expensive to run and we need to conserve
power if possible. Just recently there were 3 groups playing scattered across the greens and had 3 sets of lights
on.
To maintain even wear across the carpet, some areas of
the greens may be closed. Please respect the notice
when placed in an area. Thank you.

Night Owls is commencing on October
16th. Jennifer & Peter Hatcher with Rod
& Heather Knevitt are running this important club event.

We have 123 full members—69 men, 52
ladies & 2 juniors.
Peter is still looking for another 2 teams
to have a full compliment.
Helpers are always
appreciated so if you
can help please offer.
LADIES ROUND ROBIN
If you wish to be considered for selection, please make sure your name
is on the sheet. The selection
meeting is on the 18th October.
BOWLS SA STATE EVENTS
ROSEWATER VISIT
Rosewater Bowling Club are planning to visit us again on January
3rd. They usually visit us each year
but had to cancel last year due to
the World Bowls. They are keen to
win back the trophy. More details to
follow.
LADIES SOCIAL NEWS
A small group had the October lunch at
Anglers Inn on the 8th.
The next lunch is at the Royal Hotel, Moonta on November 12th. Let Lor know if you
are attending.
