Terms and conditions • • • • • • • • • • • • • By completing this form you are applying to buy additional units in the funds of your choice in line with the Trust Deed and mandate of the relevant funds. The fund fact sheets explain how each fund invests and are available at www.sanlamunittrusts.com We accept that the instructions we receive are correct and signed by the authorised individual or signatories. We will only carry out instructions that are complete and supported by accurately completed documents. Similarly, your instruction may be delayed if it has been issued incorrectly, is unclear, incomplete, or if the supporting documents have not been submitted. Any loss will be for your account. We cannot be held responsible for losses if we don’t receive an instruction from you before the relevant cut-off times. We do not pay interest if a transaction is delayed due to outstanding requirements or incorrect deposits. The person in whose name the investment is registered is the legal owner of the investment, regardless of who the payer is. Unit trusts are generally medium to long term investments. Past performance is not necessarily a guide to future performance. Unit trusts are traded at ruling prices and may engage in borrowing and scrip lending. Unit trust prices are calculated on a net asset value basis, which is the total value of all assets in the portfolio including any income accrual and less any permissible deductions from the portfolio. A schedule of fees and charges and maximum commissions is available from the manager/scheme. Commission and incentives may be paid and if so, will be included in the overall costs. The fund manager may borrow up to 10% of the portfolio to bridge insufficient liquidity. Forward pricing is used. The following charges are levied against the portfolio: brokerage, auditors' fees, service fees, applicable taxes, custodian fees, bank charges and trustees' fees. A fund of funds is a portfolio that invests in portfolios of collective investment schemes, which levy their own charges, which could result in a higher fee structure for the fund of funds. A feeder fund is a portfolio that, apart from assets in liquid form, consists solely of participatory interests in a single portfolio of a collective investment scheme, which levies its own charges. This could result in a higher fee structure for the feeder fund. For money market type funds, the price of each participatory interest is aimed at a constant value. While a constant price is maintained, the investment capital is not guaranteed. A money market portfolio and short-term debt portfolio is not a bank deposit. The total return to the investor is primarily made up of interest received but may also include any gain or loss made on any particular instrument. In most cases this will merely have the effect of increasing or decreasing the daily yield, but in an extreme cases this can have the effect of reducing the capital value of the portfolio. Sanlam is a full member of the Association for Savings & Investment SA (ASISA). The onus is on the investor to keep us informed of any changes to banking details or current identification information (e.g. change of address, change of surname and contact particulars). If any of your personal information has changed, you will need to complete an Investor Details Update form available at www.sanlamunittrusts.co.za We keep relevant documents for a period of five years or any other period as prescribed by law. We permit ringfencing for large withdrawals in terms of Notice 573 of the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act. Ringfencing is the separation of assets and the delayed sale of units in a unit trust fund. A large sale of units in a unit trust, above certain threshholds, may cause ringfencing. This ensures that the sale of a large number of units will not force us to sell the underlying investments at a price in the market which could have a negative impact on other investors. We may delay paying the reinvestment of the proceeds of the sale of units. If your sell instruction is affected by this ringfencing, the payment of your withdrawal could be affected. 11. Investor declaration (Sanlam Optimised Income Fund investors only) I understand that a notice period may apply to making withdrawals from the Sanlam Optimised Income Fund. Due to the listed preference share market being less liquid, large unplanned withdrawals may prejudice the other investors remaining in this fund. Therefore, any withdrawals that amount to more than R5 000 000 in total within a 30 day period, will be subject to 30 days' written notice.
