Public transportation to our campus is limited. Families can travel by train or bus to Harrisburg, and then
take a taxi to the campus. Harrisburg-based taxi
services are the closest to Milton Hershey School.

Clyde Stacks Visual Arts Gallery - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Ó This special show will feature the many personal and
business travels of Milton and Catherine “Kitty” Hershey.
Among their travels, the Hersheys explored some of the
finest mountains, beaches, and hot springs the world had
to offer. In doing so, they collected unique and fascinating
postcards and treasures, some of which have never been
exhibited until now.

Student Transitions, will lead this interactive workshop
that identifies the characteristics of a “Spartan Sponsor” and strategies to help their children in becoming
successful. This session will provide the opportunity
to strengthen relationships and better understand how
to play an active role by supporting your child while at
MHS. The workshop will include insight from current
MHS students and sponsors. Topics include: working
effectively with MHS staff and encouraging and supporting your children from home.

American play The Crucible and McCarthy Anti-Communist Hearings of the mid to late 1950s.

Welcome to new and exciting school year! The Fall Family Weekend at Milton Hershey School is right around the corner
and will be held Oct. 31 - Nov. 2. We invite you to take the opportunity to spend time with your child on campus while developing a strong partnership with the School! Fall Family Weekend promises to be an exciting time full of interactive and
information sessions, such as the MHS Fall Harvest Health & Wellness Expo. At the Expo you can take advantage of health
screenings, demonstrations and plenty of handouts. We welcome you to join us as we recommit to the mission created by
Milton & Catherine Hershey to create a bright future for our students!
It is important to notify the houseparents or TL staff of your visitation plans as soon as possible so they may arrange schedules accordingly. Please note: While there is no long weekend visitation during Family Weekends that count as one of the
five weekends, a new opportunity is available for you by spending Friday and Saturday with your child.
If you wish to visit your child in their school building on Friday, November 1, please contact the school’s main office no later
than Monday, October 25. PLEASE NOTE: Classes are in session; therefore, visitation is for parents/sponsors only.

Visitation for all Divisions begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31.
If your student has co-curricular obligations as part of the weekend’s activities, please make sure they honor those
commitments prior to visitation.
There are three visitation options:
1. Day visitation either on Saturday, Sunday or both
2. Visitation beginning on Friday at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday at 5:00 p.m. will require the completion of the new
passport. Please follow the directions and instructions provided with your Family Weekend Passport found within this
flyer.
3. Saturday visitation (including overnight Saturday) will begin at 8:00 a.m. and students must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on
Sunday. This option does not require passport completion.
TO ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD DOES NOT LOSE A LONG WEEKEND, PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW:
Visitation on Sunday ends at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday Chapel will be an All School Chapel in the evening and will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Camp Hill to support the MHS Marching Band and

Travel to Camp Hill by bus and cheer on the Spartans
as they challenge the Trinity Shamrocks! The bus will
leave the Port Cochere promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Chapel Service
6:00 p.m. – Founders Hall Auditorium
= Parents/sponsors and their families are invited and encouraged to remain on campus for our Chapel Service
with students on Sunday evening, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in
the Founders Hall Auditorium. All students from the
three divisions will attend the evening Chapel Service.
Chapel music will be provided by a contemporary guest
worship band, and Pastor Mike will share a message
on the theme of “Family.” Dress for this special Sunday
evening Chapel Service is appropriate leisure wear. In
our efforts to model one of Milton Hershey School’s
sacred values, Mutual Respect, we will be closing the
doors to the auditorium at 5:45 p.m. out of respect for
the service itself, as well as its participants.
= Please note: So that this weekend does not count as one
of your weekends, all students MUST be seated with
their student homes AND appropriately dressed for
Chapel no later than 5:45 p.m. At 5:45 p.m., the doors
to the auditorium will be closed to begin the Service.
Guests who arrive after that time will be invited to
watch it “live” via video feed in Founders Hall Dining Room. Please be respectful of those seated around
you and to the students who are ministering and have
worked so hard to prepare for the service. Please sit quietly and be attentive to the service on the screen. Thank
you in advance for your flexibility and cooperation.
PASSPORT DIRECTIONS
 Please note! Passports are only
required for those students beginning
their visitation on Friday. Students
beginning their visitation on Saturday
do not need a completed passport.
 Visitation for Fall Family Weekend will
begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31.
You and your child can qualify for a free
weekend during Fall Family Weekend
visit if you complete the following:
 Attend one event on Friday (see reverse
for schedule) - AND - visit your child’s
school building on Saturday (schedule
for school building visits is in body of
newsletter).
 Child must be returned at 5:00 p.m. for
evening Chapel service.
 Please locate your child’s houseparents
or an MHS administrator at the event or
activity to initial your passport.
 For your convenience, you can tear off
the Passport and carry it along with you.
 Once you complete the required
activities, submit the Passport to your
child’s houseparent.
 Failure to turn in your passport will
result in this visitation counting as one
weekend.
 Please note! If you have more than one
child, you must complete and submit a
passport for each child. Extra copies of
the passport will be available.
