ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: The HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership) Leadership Seminar is an educational experience that provides leadership skill development with a strong focus on community service. The HOBY mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation. The HOBY Seminar location and date have yet to be determined (students must be able to attend all days, including staying overnight). We do know it will take place in June 2015. Each high school in Indiana may select and send one sophomore to represent their school. Interested students should demonstrate current or potential leadership ability. If you are a current sophomore and interested in representing FCHS as this year’s HOBY Ambassador, you will need to complete and submit an application (which includes a brief essay) by Friday, October 24th. One letter of recommendation will also be due at this time. Applications are available in the guidance office. A selection committee consisting of FCHS staff and community members will review applications and select this year’s FCHS representative. The application, letter of recommendation, and essay will all be reviewed and used in making the final decision. Please see Miss Murphy in the guidance office with any questions. COLLEGE APPLICATIONS Seniors, As you start applying to colleges please make sure to let your counselors know where you have applied. We don't automatically get notified if you have applied. However, if it is the Common App then we will get notified through email automatically. We will start scheduling our senior meetings with each senior individually, along with your parents, starting in September. SENIOR BRAG SHEETS Senior Brag Sheets have been handed out to seniors. These forms are helpful to provide information about seniors. The Brag sheet is a wonderful resource for staff to complete requests from students for letters of recommendation for college.
