About us:
Plas Menai is the National Outdoor Centre for Wales, offering outdoor activities, sailing
courses, power boating, windsurfing, kayaking and much more. We also run a busy
programme of outdoor activities for schools, groups, adults, children and the local
community.
Plas Menai is an approved provider for Rescue 3 training courses that are internationally
recognised and form the base flood rescue training for many emergency services, whitewater professionals and Rescue teams. The courses are designed to equip professionals
with the knowledge to safeguard themselves and their team members whilst involved in
water based rescues.
Purpose:
This is a new role, key to delivering commercial success in a new business area. The
purpose of the role is to be responsible for the delivery of sales revenue targets, through the
establishment and development of new partner channels for Plas Menai. Specifically this
includes the opportunity to promote, grow, and generate revenue and sales in water safety
training programmes, including Rescue 3 programmes and other water safety initiatives.
Term:
 1 year consultancy (provision of services) contract providing 200 days of consultancy
 Daily rate of £122.50 per day (inclusive of mileage, equivalent to 10,000 miles).
 Target to achieve £20,000 of revenue per quarter, excluding VAT (£80,000 income
per year), built into daily rate.
 10% commission on revenue generated above specified target, up to maximum of
£2,500 per quarter.
 Revenue generated at point of sale, not based on course attendance.
 Travel throughout Wales and the UK will be a significant requirement of this role
(travel expenses are included within the daily rate outlined above)
Job Description
















Develop a plan for implementation, based on the agreed strategy for the area of new
business.
Work with relevant colleagues to develop processes and tools needed to maximise
success in this role.
Act as the main point of contact for all water safety and rescue training programmes.
Sell water safety programmes by identifying, establishing contact and developing
relationships with potential customer base.
Visit potential customers to develop new business as required.
Provide customers with quotations, negotiating and closing the best deals for the
business.
Liaise with Marketing Officer over marketing opportunities.
Liaise with Chief Instructor over programming.
Liaise with the Centre Manager over pricing.
Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on the market.
Represent Plas Menai at any relevant trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
Help to identify new markets and business opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships with clients by providing support, information, and
guidance.
Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information.
Identify programme improvements or new products by remaining current on industry
trends, market activities, and competitors.
Utilise available communication channels, including social media, to promote and
market water safety programmes.
