INSTRUCTIONS / GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPANTS

1. Tournament: CBSE Cluster II Kho-Kho Championship from 13 to 15
th
Oct., 2014.
2. Maximum 12 Players for each Team Boys & Girls Under - 19.
3. All Matches Will Be Played As Per Kho-Kho Federation of India / CBSE Rules.
(Knock-Out Basis)
4. Groups :
Under 19 year Boys ;
Born on or after 1.1.96
Under 19 year Girls ;
Born on or after 1.1.96

6. Inaugural Ceremony: The inaugural ceremony will be held on 13th Oct.,2014 at 9
AM. The first round of matches will start after the inaugural ceremony.
7. Valedictory Ceremony: Valedictory ceremony will be held on 15th Oct. at 3 PM.
Returning reservation may be made by the participating school accordingly.
8. Last Date of Entry: 6th October 2014 as per CBSE Guidelines.
9. Reporting Date & Time of Meeting: Reporting date is 12th Oct., 2014 by 7 PM.
There will be a meeting with Managers/Coaches and officials with CBSE observer at
7.30 PM on the same day.
10. Accommodation: Teams will be provided accommodation in the school premises
separately for boys and girls. If participating teams are more accommodation for boys
will be provided with in the local Sahodaya schools. Teams will be responsible for
their belongings. Players are requested not to carry any jewellary, excess cash or
valuable items.
11. Essential: The girls’ team must be escorted by a lady teacher. All teams are requested
to bring lock-key, torch, towel, 2 School flags ,Student Identity card for each player ,
playing kits, Proof of payment of Annual sports fee 2014 -15 to CBSE ,Original
medical certificate against each player of the team.
12. Lodging & Boarding Charges: Both vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food will be
served @ (Rs350/) per head per day as per CBSE rules for participants and teacher/
staff accompanying them. Rs. 1000/- (One thousand only) as security deposit which
shall be refunded in full at the time of departure in case there is no damage or loss. No
part payment will be allowed.

15. The Location of the School : The School is located on Sambalpur Jharsuguda Road
10 Km away from Sambalpur town.
16. Transport Facilities: Transport will be made available at the nearest railway station
(Sambalpur Junction/ Sambalpur City Station) and the nearest Bus stand (Sambalpur
Bus Stand) on prior information.
17. Important Information: Please bring the following without fail.
1. A group photograph for each Team of players, Coach/Manager with Principal and
duly attested by the principal.
2. The participants studying in Class XI & XII are requested to produce their attested
Xerox copy of the marks sheet of class Xth Board Examination. For class IXth &
Xth registration numbers.
3. All the participating teams shall participate in opening ceremony in their respective
school uniforms.
4. All the participating teams shall compete in the tournament in their respective
school kit.

20. No team will be allowed to participate without the team Manager/coach.
21. In case it is noticed that any School team consists of over aged players or non-
students/students not studying in the sponsoring school, such teams will be
disqualified immediately. For any replication of offence, the name of the school
will be forwarded to the affiliation branch of the board for necessary action as
per the affiliation by laws.

N.B.: The National Championship of CBSE National KHO- KHO championship 2014 is
scheduled to be held from 25th to 30th of Nov., 2014 at Yadhuvanshi Shiksha Niketan
Bucholi Road ,MahendraGarh-123029 (Haryana). Therefore the participating school teams
are requested to do the necessary arrangements such as, travel reservations for the qualified
ones for the national championship. (All the 1st & 2nd place holder teams qualify). They are to
report at CBSE National Venue.

Rules
(BOYS & GIRLS)
1. The rules as adopted by the Kho-Kho Federation of India apply unless otherwise modified
in these rules.
2. All the matches at Cluster level will be played on Knockout basis. In case the number of
teams reporting is 8 or less than 8, the tournament may be conducted on league cum
knock out basis.
3. From each Cluster, the first & second position winning teams will qualify to participate in
the CBSE National Championship.
4. All the matches at National level shall be played on league cum knock out basis.
5. At National level: All the teams reporting may be divided into different pools in such a
way that by and large no pool is of less than four teams. From each pool, the two teams
emerging on top will qualify to play the knock-out stage matches.
6. In matches played on league basis, “points for minus the total points against” shall decide
the tie. Should the tie still persist; it shall be decided by “spin of coin”.
7. A team shall consist of a maximum number of twelve players.
8. Match to decide third & fourth positions will also be played at Cluster & National level.
9. The school Organizing Cluster level competition shall take a Group Photo of the teams
that have qualified to participate at National level competition. The photo shall be signed
by the host school Principal and forwarded to the school organizing next level of
competition along with the original entry Performa.
DISQUALIFICATIONS
A player/team may be disqualified/scratched for the following reasons.

If the ineligibility of any member of the team is detected.
Inclusion of non bonafide student in the team.
Misbehavior on ground by athlete or accompanying official.
Use of abusive language by athlete or accompanying official.
Misbehavior with Officials/Opponents by athlete or accompanying official.
Indiscipline at the place of stay by athlete or accompanying official.
Damage of the school property.
Indiscipline during the Opening and Closing ceremonies by athlete or accompanying
official.
9. Non participation in March Past.
THE ORGANIZING SCHOOL IN NO CASE SHALL SHOW THE ELIGIBILITY PERFORMA OR ANY
OTHER PAPER OF A TEAM TO ANYONE WHO LODGES THE PROTEST. IT IS ONLY JURY OF
APPEAL’S PREROGATIVE TO VERIFY ALL THE DOCUMENTS.
THE ORGANIZING SCHOOL SHALL SUBMIT DETAILS OF THE DEFAULTERS TO THE JOINT
DIRECTOR (SPORTS) REPORTING THE NAMES OF THE SCHOOLS/ATHLETES, IN A
SEPARATE COVER. ALL SUCH DEFAULTERS WILL BE DEBARRED FROM THE
PARTICIPATION IN CBSE INTER SCHOOL SPORTS AND GAMES COMPETITION FOR THE
NEXT YEAR. IF ANY OF SUCH SCHOOL RESORTS TO UNFAIR MEANS AGAIN, IN THE
SUBSEQUENT YEARS, IT WILL BE DEBARRED FOR THREE YEARS.
