USATF NEW JERSEY Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships Sunday, November 2, 2014 Rowan College At Gloucester County, Sewell AGE GROUPSDISTANCE 8 & under born 2006 or later 2km (1.24 miles) 9-10 born 2004–2005 3km (1.86 miles) 11-12 born 2002–2003 3km (1.86 miles) 13-14 born 2000–2001 4km (2.48 miles) 15-16 born 1998–1999 5km (3.1 miles) 17-18 born 1996–1997 5km (3.1 miles) START TIME First race goes off at 10:30am. All other races will follow upon conclusion of prior event. Course Walk at 9:30am All ages based as of 12/31/14 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Individuals: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States, and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships. See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions. A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. All athletes must be 2014 or 2015 USATF New Jersey members in good standing. Go to www.usatfnj.org to obtain a membership for $20. Teams: Teams must declare at least 5 for a scoring team. Each club may enter more than one team (A, B, C teams). Top 5 runners will score on each team. All teams must be in registered USATF–NJ clubs. All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with and members of that club as part of their USATF-NJ membership. HOW TO ENTER THIS MEET: Entries only through online registration at www.usatfnj.org/cross/XC_Calendar.html. Entry deadline - October 28th at Noon. NO MAIL IN OR POST REGISTRATION. Coaches can register team athletes. Unattached athletes (7-17) must have a parent/guardian register them. 18 year old unattached athletes may register themselves. Online waiver must be signed by the appropriate individual. FEES, PRE–ENTRY ONLINE ONLY: $8/Individual. AGE GROUPS determined by year of birth. PROOF OF AGE: All participants must provide proof of age. No Exceptions. All entrants who have not had their date of birth verified in their USATF-NJ membership must email a copy of their birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license, or U.S. government identification to the NJ office by October 22rd so the membership can be updated in time to enter the meet. AWARDS: USATF medals to top 10 individuals in each age group. Patches to 1st overall & team champions in each age group. ADVANCEMENTS: All individuals and teams that compete in the association meet are eligible to advance to the Region II Championships hosted by the Mid Atlantic Association on November 23rd. Enter the jug handle on the right for Greentree Road (after Arby’s). Continue on Greentree Road to the second traffic light and turn right onto Egg Harbor Road. Continue to the traffic light at the intersection (Five Points Diner on the right). Continue straight through the light. A half block after the intersectionmake a left, following the sign for Sewell, onto Blackwood-Barnsboro Road. The College entrance will be on your right. Fom Clayton Tae Route 47 (Delsea Drive) through Glassboro and Pitman. Continue through Hurffville and make a left onto Salina Road. At the next intersection, make a right onto Blackwood-Barnsboro Road and continue straight, making a left onto the Rowan College grounds. From Central and North New Jersey Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to interchange 4. Exit there onto Route 73 and follow signs one-quarter mile to Route 295 South. Remain on Route 295 for 10 miles, until it merges with Route 42 in Bellmawr. Move left onto Route 42 lanes;then follow Route 55 Directions to the Rowan College campus. Alternate Directions: If near Route 295 in Burlington or Mercer Counties: Take 295 South to Bellmawr (near exit 29). When it merges with Route 42, move left onto Route 42 lanes; then follow Route 55 Directions to the Rowan College campus. From Route 55 (from Bellmawr) Take Route 42 to Route 55 South for four miles to Exit 56-B (Route 47 North — Woodbury-Westville). Turn left at the first traffic light onto Bankbridge Road, then left at the first traffic light onto Tanyard Road. The third entrance on the left (just past Monongahela Middle School and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology) is Rowan College. From South Philadelphia Cross the Walt Whitman Bridge. Follow signs to the Atlantic City Expressway. Follow Route 42 South to the second exit, which is Route 55 South. Take Route 55 South and follow directions above to the College. From Route 55 (from South) Take Route 55 North toward Bellmawr-Camden. Take Exit 56A (Route 47 South). Drive about one-half mile and make a right at the RCGC sign just before the traffic light. Turn right again at the RCGC-Sewell sign. Proceed one mile, and then take the first right beyond the overpass into the Rowan College campus. From the Delaware Memorial Bridge Take Route 295 North to exit 11. Take Route 322 East for several miles to Route 45. Make a left onto Route 45 North. Follow for one mile to Breakneck Road (Route 603 — Heritage’s Dairy Store on the corner). Make a right onto 603 and follow to Tanyard Road (located just past the Wawa). Make a left onto Tanyard Road. The Rowan College entrance will be on the right. Alternate Directions: Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to exit 2 and make a right onto Route 322 East. Follow the directions above to the campus.
