The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading and GCYF invite you to a Funder-to-Funder Huddle focusing on the critical role of parents in ensuring early school
success. During the Huddle, the GCYF Family Engagement and Parent Organizing Network will discuss their work on parent organizing as a strategy for sustainable
policy change. Campaign for Grade-Level Reading funders will then share successful strategies and programs that give parents the tools and information they need to
succeed in their roles as first teacher, best advocate, coach and most important role model to their children. The Funder-to-Funder Huddle will conclude with a

History, the world's largest institution dedicated to the African American experience. The museum is home to learning opportunities, exhibitions,
programs and events based on collections and research that explore the diverse history and culture of African Americans and their African origins.
The venue is an ideal location for the annual Host Event, an event dedicated to showcasing the culture, contributions and accomplishments of our
host city.

contributions of CYF grantmakers.

Presentation of GCYF’s 2014 Fred Rogers Leadership Award in Philanthropy for Children, Youth, and Families
Since 2003, GCYF has given this prestigious award annually in memory of “Mr. Rogers”, one of the country's most beloved advocates for children.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions and leadership by grantmaking staff, trustees and donors in all fields of CYF philanthropy. GCYF
and the 2014 Selection Committee will present the award at the GCYF 2014 Annual Conference to 2014 Award Honoree: Myrna Deckert, CEO,
Paso del Norte Health Foundation, El Paso TX.
Special Performance by Mike Ellison
Mike Ellison was born in Ethiopia and fully realized himself as an actor, recording and performance artist in Detroit. The multi-faceted entertainer
has released independent albums, produced national concert and community outreach tours, and registered acting credits that span film, theater
and television. Mike has employed entertainment as a vehicle to promote education and health initiatives throughout the United States and his
birth country.
