Position Type: Location: Closing: Start Date: Permanent Full-time Calgary, AB July 5, 2013 July 22, 2013 (negotiable) The Position The role of Marketing Coordinator is an important one; reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications. As a member of a small team you will work with the Director to ensure that MindFuel marketing and communication activities create awareness with our identified stakeholder groups. The position will support the research, development and implementation of appropriate marketing and advertising activities for MindFuel and its programs. Duties will include management of promotional materials inventory; plan meetings and trade shows; carry out the social media strategy; maintain appropriate databases; manage analytics, and prepare reports. Responsibilities Plan meetings and educational trade shows by: identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements through establishing contacts, developing schedules and internal assignments such as coordinating contact lists from events. Designs and implements plans to market events and products. Project management/coordination with ad agency and other external suppliers. Develop appropriate marketing literature ensuring valid, current and accurate content. Prepares, assembles and implements marketing and advertising campaigns that meet the strategies and objectives of the organization. Maintains the website and/or websites: up to date the pictures, copy, announcements, etc. Execute and oversee the social media strategy for the organization and its programs. Monitor the organization and its programs for uniformity in message, including templates, tag lines, and logo usage. Assist on the content, writing, and development of the annual report. Assist on initiating media opportunities including on-air interviews and feature stories. Writes and distributes press releases and produces media kits as required. Manages the internal staff newsletter. Keeps promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with various suppliers; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Researches competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share; advertising; etc. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading appropriate trade publications etc. Qualifications, Skills and Abilities A degree or diploma in Marketing or Communications would be an asset but will consider applicants with appropriate mix of experience and education in Business or Arts or Science. Some knowledge in marketing required such as field experience, understanding of methods for promoting and selling services and products; and effective communication techniques.
