HAPPY HOLIDAYS
I’d like to wish all
members of the school
community a super half
term break.
Congratulations to both
pupils and staff who have all worked REALLY
hard, enabling us to have a good start to the
school year. I am delighted to have received
direct and indirect feedback about how well
the new Y7 have settled in.
AWARDS FOR DISTINGUISHED WORK
This week I was delighted to
see Ciara Daley with her
Science work which showed
what happens to a cheese
sandwich when it is eaten.
Her poster was not only
excellent science, but also a great piece of
art/graphic design. The Award for
Distinguished Work was truly well deserved.
I was also delighted to be passed
Commendations for excellent dialogues in
French for Niloufar Badiani, Holly Bailey, Olivia
Shaw (all 9R), Vishna Haran and Rose Jenner
(both 9P), Lara Page-Brown and Charlotte
Smith (both 9P). Well done everyone! Keep up
the good work.

PLEASE do not drop your
daughter on the yellow

and PLEASE do not park
on the pavement when
collecting pupils at the end

to pedestrians, cars trying to enter/exit the
school car park and other road users. All of
the girls are perfectly able to walk to
somewhere where they can be collected safely
and it may even do them good!

SAFETY
A LEVEL SUPPORT SESSIONS
We have had a report of a
man in a car taking
photographs of pupils on
their way to school. The
girls affected went
straight to the police
station to report the matter. Hopefully, this
was not a serious incident, but I would like to
remind girls to walk to school with a friend
whenever possible and, if you are concerned
about someone, to note as many details as
possible and contact the police.
AMAZON WISH LIST
One of our parents has suggested (and very
kindly set up) an Amazon Wish List for the
school with the idea that whilst ordering
Christmas presents, parents might also like to
make a donation to the school of something
very practical. At present, there are only a
small number of books, but Mrs Aldridge
would be pleased to hear of suggestions for
Library books and departments might also
wish to suggest items which they would like
pupils to be able to access in the Library.
Please buy or suggest! Thank you

FILM CLUB REVIEW
During last week’s Film
Club they showed 'The
Hunger Games: Catching
Fire'! I now understand
the hype about the movie.
Watching the film in that
comfortable environment
helped me enjoy the film
a lot more, because the 6th formers were
able to keep everyone quiet. I am very
happy I watched this brilliant film in school
as I saved money by not going to the
cinema. I was very impressed on my first
time there and I think it is a great idea.
They'll definitely see me back there again.

Our students talked about their recent trip
to St Albans, when they were tasked with
finding out information about different areas
of the city. Four groups of students
presented their findings on Verulamium
Park, The Abbey, The High Street and
Fishpool Street. They presented the
information clearly and eloquently and it was
well received by their
audience. It was a lovely
surprise to find that one of
our student's grandfather
was at the lunch, which
made our visit even more
special.
Well done and thank you to 7N and their
