Stained Glass Window Project Description
Project Description: create a stained glass window using proportional and non-proportional
linear equations. For each linear equation, identify the slope and y-intercept and then graph
the equation.

Supplies: construction paper, straight edge, glue stick, pencil, colored pencils and graph
paper.
Identify the slope and y-intercept for each equation.
On your graph paper, lightly draw your coordinate plane. The axes should be in the
center of the page but on the grid lines.
Draw each line on your graph paper. Label each line with the line number. Use a
straight edge and draw the lines to the edge of your graph paper.
When you are finished, neatly color the sections to make a stained glass window design.
Glue graph paper on the front of construction

Presentation
Grade:
Excellent (9-10)
Correctly identifies all slopes of
the lines.
Correctly identifies all yintercepts of the lines.
Correctly represents equations
as a line and labels every line.
Drawing, labeling and lines are
neat and significant effort is
shown.
All lines are clearly drawn using
a straight edge. Project is
presented as instructed.
(out of 50)
Good (6-8)
Most of the slope are
identified correctly.
Most of the y-intercepts are
identified correctly.
Represents some equations as
a line and labels most lines.
Project is neat and easy to
read. Final product shows
effort and time taken to
complete the project.
Some lines are clearly drawn
and a straight edge was used.
Project is presented as
instructed.
Poor (0-5)
Some of the slopes are
incorrect or missing.
Some of the y-intercepts are
incorrect or missing.
Lines are not labeled.
Project is not neat and easy to
read. It does not show
significant effort.
Lines are not clearly draw or
draw free hand. Some parts of
the project are not included or
are incorrect.
