M AC H I G H athletes of the week Zach Silver Football Senior / Coach: Robin Hill | Parents: Pat & Becky Zach has been a tremendous leader on both sides of the football this year for the Grizzlies. As a starter at running back and outside linebacker Zach has had a solid season being among the team lead in both yards and tackles. Zach sealed a homecoming game victory with a touchdown in the fourth quarter and accounted for over 100 yards of offense on the night. Great job Zach! Madison Vicknair Volleyball Senior / Coach: Jenifer Gubrud | Parents: Tony & Jodi Maddy was unstoppable last week! She logged a record 31 kills in our victory versus West Salem and played inspirational volleyball all week long. Maddy is one of the smartest, best all around volleyball players in the state. She has helped the team immensely with her serve receive passing and serving in addition to being a team captain. Keep up the great work Madison! Playoffs are just around the corner. Mauricio Duran Boys’ Soccer Senior / Coach: Jory Shene | Parents: Mauro & Balbina Mauricio scored a goal against West Albany and logged some crucial minutes in both games last week. His leadership and positive attitude has helped the team come together at the right time. Everyday he brings a new level of energy and wants to see not only himself, but also his teammates succeed. Yareli Macias Girls’ Soccer Senior / Coach: Victor Campos | Parents: Chip & Sid Yareli has been moved to outside mid this year from her normal outside defender position and has done a great job due to her ability to attack and hold the ball for us. She had a very strong game against West Albany which contributed to a 3-0 win at home for us. She has demonstrated toughness all year long and is a very competitive girl along with her willingness to play whatever asked has earned her a starting role on the team. Thank you Yareli great job.
