Earlier in the day, the NSA visited the blast site in Burdwan and assessed the progress of the investigation. 5 Two killed in clash PBD BUREAU/PTI SURI, OCT 27 TWO persons were killed, and one was injured, and at least five housed gutted in a clash between Trinamool Congress and BJP supporters today at Makra village in Birbhum district. The two were injured by bullets fired from countrymade guns in the two-hour clash and succumbed to their injuries at a hospital, hospital sources said. However, no one was arrested as yet in connection with the clash. Trading charges, ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP have blamed each other for the violence, police said. Makra village is adjacent to Chakmondola where the officer-in-charge of Parui police station was attacked during a raid on October 24. Parui police station officer-in-charge Prosenjit Dutta and three other policemen were injured when they raided Chakmondola village following reports that bombs were being made there. Bombs were thrown at the police personnel during the raid. The UP CM has demanded 8.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea immediately, in which 4.50 lakh tonnes would be rewired in the cooperative sector and remaining four lakh tonnes in the private sector. The letter dispatched today to the PM said that due to shortage in supply of fertilizers by the central agencies, the state farmers are facing problem in sowing their crops. Against the demand of 38 lakh tonnes of urea, the Centre has only sanctioned 35 lakh tonnes, lending to a shortfall of three lakh metric tones, UP CM claimed. The state government has decided to store two lakh tonnes of urea for emergency while during the Rabi season in 2014-15, in the month of October, there is a requirement of 6.50 lakh tonnes of urea, of which 50 per cent would be allotted for distribution in for cooperative sector. intelligence chiefs flew in to Burdwan by a chopper from NSC Bose International Airport. Darjeeling Eastern Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association (DEHBCA) spokesman S L Palzor said, "One of our members in Delhi was informed about some people from Thailand wanting to donate a statue of Buddha. He referred the name of Dichen TashiCholing Gumba located at Gopal Dhura in Singtam, Darjeeling which was then endorsed by the Indian Ambassador to Thailand". "The presentation is being coordinated by Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association," said Palzor. A 350-feet high temple and sprawling over six lac square foot area in West Bengal's Mayapur, the world headquarters of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), is inching toward completion and will be ready by 2022. Construction work at the Rs 500 crore-'Sri Mayapur Chandroday' temple project is in full swing since its foundation stone was laid by ISKCON's FounderAcharya Srila Prabhupada in 1972. "The temple would be unique as it would not only house the planetarium that would speak secret of Vedas but it would have a hall on 1.5 acre area where 10,000 devotees can pay their obeisance at a time," Alfred Ford, grandson of iconic American industrialist Henry Ford and the president of the temple construction committee, told reporters here The Temple of Vedic Planetarium will also describe all the physical details of the Universe and their relationship with God. "It would encourage a sense of wonder in the creation and in the hand behind it," he said, adding that the temple would be completed by 2022. Ford, who has invested Rs 200 crores in this temple project, is here in the city to participate in the religious rituals related to the auspicious 'Kartik' month. "Though my wife is from a Brahmin family of West BengaI, I opted Vaishnav Dharma after taking 'Deeksha' (consecration) from my preceptor Prabhupada in the year 1972. In order to obey the commandment made by my preceptor I invested Rs 200 crores in this temple," he said. Prabhupada defined the size and design details of temple and town. "He also purchased the land, laid the cornerstone and left the royalties from his numerous books to help fund needed for construction. Since he gave his disciples the task of completing the Mayapur project and the temple I am honouring the wishes of my spiritual teacher," Ford said.
