Another year is gone and we are now into the ‘lighting
season’ once again. I would like to take this

The market in the UK and worldwide is changing with
many new developments of bulb and LED types
becoming available. Osram are at the forefront of

Yes, we still need to ensure that we are competitive
on a 472 or a 380 but our main focus is where we
can add value for our stockists and professional

many of the new LED products becoming available.
With so many new products, communication and
awareness are paramount, hence why we launched
the Osram Installer Programme to make garages and
workshops aware of these products and opportunities.
This programme will of course also help to drive
demand to our partner stockists.
Most of these products are already publicised to
consumers and with the difficulty of changing bulbs
or fitting a DRL or fog light kit on many cars, there is
a massive opportunity for garages and workshops to
offer a supply and fit service to consumers. The
Installer Programme also adds value by supplying
marketing support and templates so garages can tell
their potential local customers about their new supply
and fit service. The programme also offers free POS
to garages and free bulb fitting instructions for many
car types.
This is an example of adding value and this is what

Light assurance for motorcyclists
Osram’s ranges of high performance bulbs provide more visibility and safety on the road.
Motorcyclists can also benefit from upgrading their headlight bulbs with the new and improved
ranges: NIGHT RACER® 110, NIGHT RACER® 50 and X-RACER®. They have all been designed
with motorcyclists needs in mind.
With more and more cars on the road with DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) then it is even more
important for motorcyclists to stand out in traffic and be noticed by other road users. NIGHT
RACER® 110 are a must for uncompromising riders, who only want the best. Providing up to 110%
more light on the road ahead and a beam of light that is up to 40 metres longer* compared to a
standard halogen bulb, riders can be certain that they can see and be seen. Specially designed for
mopeds and smaller motorcycles; NIGHT RACER® 50 offers plenty of light at a reasonable price.
NIGHT RACER® 50 is also available in the HS1 bulb type that is more commonly used on mopeds

The LEDguardian® Road Flare can be used to make an emergency
situation visible and safe. Whether on a country lane or on the side of
the motorway, the amber flashing Road Flare can be deployed to
make other road users aware of your presence. Equipped with 16
LEDs, the Road Flare has three modes: amber flashing, amber all on
plus a torch function. It is visible from a distance of up to 240 metres
