CONV2-E version 3
Protocol converter from Pelco-D to Bosch Bi-phase
MANUAL INSTRUCTION
The converter is a microprocessor device, designed to control PTZ cameras Enviro Dome by uses
keyboards (or DVRs), working in Pelco-D protocol. This allows for integration of Bosch company
cameras with any other camera system or digital recorders. The converter receives commands in Pelco-D
protocol by uses RS-485 interface and after translation the data by appropriate software, the commands
are sending by Bi-Phase output.
1. Structure of connections
The converter is connected between keyboard and PTZ cameras and it requires 9~24V D or AC supply.

For longer cables of bus, both RS-485 interface and
Biphase, should be included to terminating resistor. This
will prevent wave reflections in cables, which are cause of
transmission errors. Terminating resistors should be
connected only in devices, which are of ends of the bus.
Larger number of resistors will cause an excessive burden
of transmission.

Switching resistors in converter consists in the combination
wire clamp TERM1 with A+ and TERM2 with Biphase+,
respectively for RS-485 and Bi-phase interfaces.

Function of decreasing of address is recommended in working mode as CONV-2E, because in Pelco-D protocol address of
cameras start at number 1, while in Bi-phase protocol natomiast w protokole Bi-phase address of cameras start at number 0.
Because in pelco-P protocol address start at numer 0, switch should be attached for working mode of CONV-2G.
4. Start-up
All connections and configuration of switches, should be made with disconnect the power supply of
converter. Should pay attention to correct polarity of RS-485 and Bi-Phase interfaces.
Correct working of converter can be determined by LED observing. If device is correct configured and
connected, at the time of trying to control from desktop, both LEDs should blink.

*) This functions are available before unlocked Advanced Functions – more information you can find on
instruction of Bosch cameras.
Because cameras, which use Pelco-D protocol have a less function than Bosch keyboards, the
converter doesn’t translate commands of Fast addressing. To use this function is recommended
uses original Bosch keyboard or hardware addressing.
