SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS. ORGANISER The meeting is jointly organised and administered by the New Zealand Classic Motorcycle Racing Register Inc., and the New Zealand Post Classic Racing Association under a Motorcycling New Zealand permit. RULES The meeting will be conducted under the rules detailed in the Manual of Motorcycle Sport (MNZ), and these Supplementary Regulations. ENTRIES Entries close 1700 Hrs (5.00pm) Friday 19h of September 2014. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Secretary, a $50.00 late entry fee will apply. Any Entries that are not accompanied by full payment of the entry fee WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Entry fees are $225.00 for all Senior’s. (Entrants less than 16 years old at the close of entries are free.) There will be 2 x Pit Passes provided per full entry for Solo machines and 3 x for Sidecars, additional Full Weekend passes can be purchased at $30.00 per pass Note: Grids are limited to 40 entries per race group. In oversubscribed classes, entrants will be informed as soon as possible and placed on a reserve list if required. LICENCING A valid 2014‐ 15 Motorcycling New Zealand or Motorcycling Australia competition licence or FIM equivalent is compulsory. All MA or FIM Licence holders must have the required Event Insurance and “Start” permission to the MNZ office, 7 days prior to the event. Saturday 25th October 2014: Sign‐on, Machine Examination, Helmet Check for 0700 to 0830 Hrs. Riders Briefing: 0830 Hrs. Practice Commences: 0900 Hrs. Please bring your Competition Licence, Club Membership card and Helmet to sign on. MACHINE EXAMINATION & GEAR CHECK Machine examination will be carried out prior to Riders Briefing and before a machine that has been repaired following a crash is returned to the circuit. Machines found to contravene MNZ safety or eligibility rules may be excluded from the event. Helmet check will be carried out by MNZ at sign on. Riding Gear inspected on the dummy grid prior to practice commencing. Back protectors are compulsory. Note: All Sidecar competitors, must have their machines logbooks, technical checks and certifications up to date. prior to presentation for machine examination. NOISE EMISSION Circuit noise regulations as provided for, under Rule 10‐6‐3: All machines are to be effectively silenced so as not to exceed 95dB(A) "ride by" measured by the official meter located 30m from the track centre line. Machines registering consistently in excess of the limit will be brought to the attention of the officials for action to be taken as follows: • Exceeding 95 but not exceeding 98dB(A): On the first offence during the meeting the rider will be warned that this has occurred and instructed to rectify the situation. For second and subsequent infringements the machine will be black flagged from the race or practice without further warning. • Exceeding 98dB(A): The machine will be black flagged from the race or practice without warning. If circumstances don’t allow the machine to be black flagged, the competitor may be excluded from the results of that practice or race. • During the course of the event the club will endeavour to post lists of machines and their noise readings to assist competitor’s efforts in complying with these limits. GRIDS Starting girds will be determined by the qualifying times of each class and will be posted by the sign‐on building after qualifying. There will be suitable separation between classes that are receiving a separate start. Participation in qualifying is essential to determine your initial grid position for all classes. Riders who do not qualify may be allocated grid positions. ROLLING GRIDS Grid positions for each subsequent event will be determined by the previous race results for that event. This will be displayed at the sign‐on building, after the 30 minute protest period has lapsed. All competitors must be on the dummy grid prior to the completion of the previous race. If a competitor arrives after the warm up lap/laps have commenced, they will start from the dummy grid / Pit Lane after the rest of the field has cleared the start area. STOPPING & STARTING RACES • Starts: All races will be started with a flag drop or by a sequence of red lights that count up until all are lit, with the race starting when the lights, after a varied time period, are extinguished. • Where 2 or more classes are racing together they will be started either as a single start or as a separate start with a 10 – 20 second delay; this will be determined by the Clerk of the Course based on lap times and/or machine type. • Chequered Flag: All races will be completed by a waved Black & White Chequered flag with a White flag indicating 1 lap remaining. • Red Flag: In the event of a race stoppage a Red flag and/or flashing red light will be displayed at the Start/Finish Line with a Red Flag at each Marshalling point. Competitors are to reduce speed and must return to the Dummy grid located in Pit lane via the Pit Lane entrance, in an orderly manner to await instructions. ENTERING & EXITING, PIT LANE Competitors shall only exit the pits to the circuit under the control of the Pit lane official and via the pit lane exit only. Riders shall not the cross the yellow blend line from the pit exit and are not to move onto the racing line until up to speed. Competitors found to be riding the wrong way up or down Pit Lane may be fined or excluded from the meeting. Entry to the Pit Lane is on the Start /Finish straight; Competitors must move to the far right of the circuit, reduce speed and signal their intentions to leave the track without impeding other competitors in the process Once committed to entering Pit lane and a competitor has crossed to the inside of the entry blend lines that competitor MUST enter Pit Lane. Note: Any rider crossing a yellow line on the circuit may be subject to exclusion from that event, any rider riding to the right of the yellow line (for any reason other than to enter the pits) leading up the finish straight to the pit entry will be excluded from the results. Such exclusion to be advised at the completion of the event in which the offence occurred PIT FACILITES Normal Pits on the hard standings and Skid Pan are available with camping allowed in these areas for competitors. Pit garages are for hire, please contact Hampton Downs Motorsport Park direct on (09) 280‐6584. In order to reduce congestion and improve access, competitors are requested to keep the parking of “support vehicles’ behind the Pit garages to a minimum. REFUNDS Prior to the meeting, any entrant will be given a refund on his/her entry fee if for any reason attendance over the weekend is not possible. Notification is required in writing to the Race Secretary by Thursday 23th October 2014 at 1700hrs. ANIMALS No Dogs or Pets are allowed at the meeting. – No Exceptions WELCOME DINNER A Welcome Dinner for the Barry Sheene Motorcycle Classic event will be held on Saturday Night 25th October commencing at approx 1800 hrs. A buffet meal is available at a cost of $40.00 each per head with a cash bar being available for the duration of the event. The Dress code will be casual however a reasonable standard is expected. As catering numbers for the meal are limited please indicate on the payment form how many people will be attending. Note: Dinner tickets may not be available on the day so please book early to reserve your seat and avoid any disappointment.
