Dear colleague,
FIMH 2015 is the 8th International Conference on Functional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart. This biennial scientific event aims to integrate the research and development efforts in the fields of cardiovascular
modeling and image analysis. The main goal is to encourage collaboration among scientists in signal and
image processing, imaging, applied mathematics, biophysics, biomedical engineering, and experts in cardiology, radiology, biology and physiology.
FIMH 2015 will be held on June 25-27 2015 in Maastricht, The Netherlands. The venue for the conference
is the Crowne Plaza hotel, situated on the right bank of the river Maas (Meuse), which gave Maastricht
its name. The venue is located within historical Wyck with its unique atmosphere: contemporary flair in a
historic setting, filled with fashion, accessories, design, antiques, and gastronomy in the most stylish shops
and restaurants. The left-sided, largest part of the beautiful old city center is a stroll of roughly 500m across
either the St. Servatius bridge or the so-called High Bridge.
Topics
We are soliciting original contributions (technical and clinical) that are related to the following topics that
have formed the traditional focus of FIMH:
• Anatomical and Functional Cardiac Imaging
• Anatomical, Statistical, Physical and Physiological Modeling of the heart
• Computer Aided Diagnosis and Surgery
• Simulation Tools and Resources for Cardiac Modeling
For this edition of FIMH, we especially welcome contributions related to:
• Cardiac Imaging through Ultrasound
• Fetal and Neonatal Cardiac Function
FIMH 2015 will feature distinguished keynote lectures, single-track oral presentations and poster presentations. We invite electronic submissions for FIMH 2015 (LNCS style) of up to 8-page papers for oral or poster
presenta-tion. The FIMH 2015 proceedings will be published in a dedicated volume of the Springer Series
on Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and distributed at the conference. All manuscripts will be
