UNC Etude Festival
The UNC Etude Festival explores the etude as a musical genre, from its origins in
the technical and musical study pieces of the nineteenth century through its
contemporary use as a vehicle for compositional exploration. The festival seeks to
reflect the vibrancy of the etude tradition through a wide variety of performances
by UNC faculty and students, culminating in a world premiere of African
American composer H. Leslie Adams’ complete Piano Etudes. For more info, visit
