Dear Exhibitors,
The Albany Agricultural Society cattle committee would like to welcome you to the 2014
Zambonetti Transport Cattle Competition.
Once again we have some great sponsors on board who have donated some top quality
prizes. We would like to make special mention of our major sponsor Zambonetti Transport for
their continued generous support and again welcome Harvey Fresh as a major sponsor of the
dairy section. Please be aware of our sponsors, acknowledge their generosity and support their
businesses where possible.
As in previous years we will again be running classes for commercial animals to allow
participation of non-stud competitors.
We are also pleased to be able to offer three junior awards: encouragement award- beef,
encouragement award- dairy and an individual herdsmanship award. The recipients win a free
entry to the WA Youth Cattle Handlers Camp. The cattle camp is a great way for young people
to meet other young people in the industry, and learn more about cattle handling, structure and
the industry in general.
Food and drinks will be available at the canteen all weekend and there will be the usual Friday
night BBQ followed by awards presentation. Please indicate numbers for the BBQ on the
entry form and pay on the night.
Note that alcoholic beverages will be available at the bar and must be consumed
within the licenced bar area only. Bringing your own alcoholic beverages onto the
ground and consuming them within the general cattle area is not permitted according
to law and jeopardises our bar licence for future events. Individuals who do not
respect this requirement may be ejected from the grounds. Please support our bar,
as the proceeds go into improving your show and facilities.
The competition will start promptly at 8.30am Friday. Beef Breed Classes for 2014 will be in
the following order: Speciality, Bos Indicus, European, British, Interbreed Champions then
Commercial Females followed by pairs and group classes. Please have all cattle on grounds by
7.30am, the main gate will open from 6.30am.
The committee is dedicated to ensuring the continual improvement and success of an Albany
Cattle Show. We welcome any thoughts or suggestions on improving the competition.
Kind regards,
Albany show cattle committee 2014
