Identified challenges based on 2014 and
2015 proposals
 More difficult to succeed: Higher expectations from
EC / evaluators
 Consortium composition
– Innovation driven: Industry’s role
– One needs to think wide: not only one field of research /
market
– Needed expertise

UN IVERSITY OF JYVÄ SKYLÄ
Things to consider
 What is the right funding instrument for you?
– ERC – scientific breakthrough = IMPACT on science
– Marie Skłodowska-Curie – career development
– Industrial leadership – growth and employment
– Societal challenges – solutions
 What is best role for you (coordinator versus
partner)?
 What kind of timetable and what kind team do you
need for the proposal writing?
