Socio-economic aspects BLUE GROWTH FOCUS AREA Blue Growth Focus Area in 2014 • 11 topics + SME instrument • Evaluation carried out in 2 stages for RIA and IA, and in 1 stage for CSA. • 128 proposals received for the 1st stage • 68 proposals submitted for the 2nd stage and single-stage • 17 proposals selected for funding (by 26 Nov) • Overall budget allocated 99.8 M€ BLUE GROWTH FOCUS AREA Blue Growth Focus Area in 2015 • 4 topics + SME instrument (marine biotech & aquaculture) • Focus is on:  Preservation and sustainable exploitation of the North Atlantic  Effect climate change on fisheries and aquaculture  Response capacities to oil spills and marine pollutions  Support to JPI "Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans" • Overall budget allocated 43 M€ SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY FOCUS AREA SFS Focus Area in H2020 Ensuring availability and access to sufficient safe and nutritious food that is sustainably produced 1.
