National judge. She judges A shows & local, Hunter/Jumpers,
English & Western Pleasure, Equitation & Horsemanship, 4 H,
Reining, Special Olympics, Dressage & Competitive Trail.
She trains & teaches on the National Level.

PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN
AN EQUINE ACTIVITY RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITIES
PERSUANT TO CHAPTER 12 OF TITLE 4 OF THE OFFICIAL CODE OF GEORGIA ANNOTATED.
CLOSING: 9PM Wednesday prior to the show. Entries must be PAID FOR after closing date.
Entries may be accepted after that at the late post entry fee. Incompletely submitted entries may be
accepted at the post entry fee. We will not take any entries Friday before the show.
TO ENTER: Email rider's name, address, age and phone number, the horse’s name and class
numbers to the Secretary at [email protected]. Entries from adults only please!
ENTRY FEES: Fees may be paid with credit card, cash, closed or open check left with the Secretary
the morning of the show.

STALLS FEES: Stalls are reserved on a first come & paid basis with signed entries. We will not
accept horses that chew wood, crib (collar ok), kick or act unruly in the barn. Stalls are expected to be
picked up prior to departure. Damage to stalls will be accessed a repair fee.
$25 per stall upper barn show day
$20 per stall in temporary stalls in lower barn show day
$40 Fri. night & show day upper barn (entries & stall fees must be paid by 6PM Fri). Farm & all arenas
close 6PM Fri. Ten minute only limit for vehicle parking at barn.

COMMITMENT TO PAY: When a horse show extends the courtesy of taking an advanced entry
without payment, it is with the understanding that classes will be paid for on show day. If the rider
didn't do well in school that week, gets tired or wishes to withdraw, the fees for the pre-entered
classes are still due. Failure to pay may result in legal action or other negative repercussions.
ENTRY FORMS: Must be signed by every adult, competitor, parent & or trainer.
REFUNDS FOR ILLNESS OF HORSE OR RIDER: Refunds will be given in the case of the illness of
a horse or rider with a veterinarian or doctor's note, on official letterhead, if received by the Secretary
within 5 working days.
RULES: The show will be run according to the USEF, GHJA & SHJG hunter/jumper rules and every
participant in the show is expected to know & follow the rules.
NEGATIVE COGGINS: Each horse must have a current negative coggins shown to the Secretary at
sign in time.
DRESS: Proper attire is required in all classes except warm-ups Polos may be worn on hot days. All
riders must wear ASTM-SEI approved helmets with a properly adjusted (snug) harness while mounted
on show grounds. Boots must be worn.
HOSPITALITY: The Pegasus Tack Shop will be open during the show. Snack food will be available.
Water is available at each building on the farm.
TARDINESS TO CLASS: A 3 minute rule may be put into affect at any time upon
announcement if a rider keeps a judge waiting. Flat classes will not be held for trainers.
STALLIONS : No junior rider will be allowed to ride stallions.
NO SMOKING ON SHOW GROUNDS. Pegasus Riding School is a drug-free facility,
including nicotine.
DOGS are a danger at horse shows. NO LOOSE DOGS ALLOWED! Dogs must be held by an adult
on a short (under 6') leash at all times. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims,
losses or actions resulting from their dog's behavior. Loose and/or disruptive dogs may be subject to
impoundment by the horse show or by the local government. Owners of loose and/or disruptive dogs
may be subject to penalties and /or fines.
LEADLINE CLASSES: Children's mounts must be held on a lead by an adult.
SHOW CONDUCT: Any act of discourtesy to the judge or any show official by anyone will be cause
for immediate dismissal from the grounds without refund. Management reserves the right to refuse an
entry, cancel, combine, divide classes, combine age group equitation classes or make adjustments as
needed to improve the show. Exhibitors agree to ride under a substitute judge if necessary.
WEATHER: The show will be held rain or shine. NO rain date. NO rain refunds.
BOUNCED CHECKS: Must be paid in full with a $35 cash service charge within 5 working days.
AWARDS: Ribbons to sixth place. Championship - given out only in divisions of 3 or more classes
with 3 or more riders in each class. Reserve - given out only in divisions of 3 or more classes with 3
or more riders in each class. Riders must enter ALL CLASSES of a division to quality for
championship. Stuffed toys to all junior blue ribbon winners.
POINTS: Points will be awarded as follows: 10 for first place, 6 for 2nd place, 4 for third place, 2 for
fourth place, 1 point for fifth, .5 for 6th place; 20 points for Champion, 12 points for Reserve
Champion. In case of a tie for Champion or Reserve, award will go to the rider with the most points
over fences. No points, ribbons or awards for falling off.
SCHOOLING: Free flat schooling in arena before 8:45AM. Ticketed warm-ups prior to divisions.
Free schooling in non-showing arenas all day.
ACTS OF CRUELTY towards horses/ponies will not be tolerated. This includes whips being used
forward of the saddle, near the eyes, animals being used in an excessive number of classes or other
improper treatment. Elimination without refund may occur at the judge's or management's discretion.
MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Unlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate motorized vehicles of any
kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm vehicles, on the
competition grounds. Failure to abide by these regulations will subject the exhibitor to suspension
from the horse show. Please refer to USEF GR 1301.7.
CLASS LIMIT: Horses & ponies may enter no more than 7 classes over fences, including equitation
& all special classes such as classics.
COURTESY CIRCLE: Management may restrict the courtesy circle with a mandatory dotted line.
3 MINUTE RULE: May be put into effect at any time upon announcement.
TYPOS: Management is not responsible for typos that may occur inadvertently
SHJG CLASS AND DIVISION SPECIFICATIONS
MODEL- Judged on horse's conformation & way of going.
SHOWMANSHIP - Judged on handler's ability to show in hand to its best
advantage; & on the handler. Pattern will be determined by the judge.
LEADLINE - Open to beginner riders on ponies/horses led by a competent
helper. Riders may not show in any other classes other than walk/halt.
PLEASURE HORSE/PONY: Judged on suitability as a pleasure horse/pony mount.
HUNTER HACK 2': Judged on the flat and two fences. Open to all horses & riders.
Does not count against Short Stirrup eligibility.
JUNIOR /ADULT PRE-BEGINNER DIVISION: Limited to riders u. 12 in their
first 2 yrs. of showing as of 12/1/13 (juniors) or 13 and over as of 12/1/13 (adults). Division: Walk/halt &
walk/trot equitation class, & a walk/trot pleasure class (judged
on suitability of horse as a beginner mount, not on horse's movement).
JUNIOR/ADULT BEGINNER GROUNDRAILS DIVISION - Limited to riders in
their first two yrs. of showing who are 12 and under as of 12/1/13 (juniors). or 13
and over as of 12/1/13 (adults); consisting of the following 3 classes: Ground rails
once around clock-wise, ground rails once around counter clock-wise and walk/trot under saddle class.
Riders may either ride in Junior /Adult Pre-Beginner Flat
Division or Junior Beginner Flat Division, but not both.
JUNIOR/ADULT BEGINNER FLAT DIVISION - Riders must be in their first
2 yrs. of showing. Riders may not ride in Pre-Beginner, Crossrail Hunter, or
Mini Hunter Divisions. Division consists of an equitation class, a pleasure class
(judged on suitability of horse as a beginner mount, not judged on movement of
horse), and a canter one at a time class (riders will walk /trot together). Junior
Beginner riders must be 12 or younger as of 12/1/13, Adult Beginner riders are 13
or over as of 12/1/13. Classes may be split if more than 3 entries in each division.
JUNIOR/ADULT BEGINNER CROSSRAIL DIVISION - Riders may not enter Pre-beginner division.
Riders may enter Junior Beginner Flat Division or Crossrail
Hunter Division but not both. Riders are not penalized for trotting in jumping
classes. Once around and twice around will be in opposite directions. Junior
Beginner riders must be 12 or younger as of 12/1/13, Adult Beginner riders are 13 or over as of 12/1/13.
Classes may be split if more than 3 entries in each division.
CROSSRAIL HUNTER DIVISION - Open to horses in their first 2 yrs. of showing or riders in their first
2 yrs. of showing, not including beginner years. Fence height 18". Horse /Rider combination may only
cross enter into Mini Hunter or Junior /Adult Beginner Crossrails (but not the Junior/Adult Beginner
Flat division)...
LIMIT EQUITATION OVER FENCES: Open to riders in their first two years of showing (not including
Beginner years) and competing in Crossrail Hunter and/or Mini Hunter. Fence heights will be offered as
crossrails or the 18" -2' vertical options. Riders will jump their respective heights (i.e.: if the rider is
competing only in Crossrail Hunter then the Equitation height will be crossrails. If the rider is competing
only in Mini Hunter then the Equitation height will be verticals. If the rider is competing in both then the
rider has the option of either crossrails or verticals . The Equitation O/F class will remain open through
Mini Hunter.
MINI-HUNTER 18"-2' DIVISION - Open to all horses & or riders in their first 2 yrs. of showing, not
including beginner yrs. Horse/rider combination may only cross enter into Crossrail Hunters and
Hunter Hack 2' class.
LOW HUNTER 2': Open to all horses and riders.
GREEN HUNTER 2': Open to all horses/ponies in their first 2 yrs of showing. Horses may not compete
in any other division where fence heights exceed 2'6".
SCHOOLING HUNTER 2'3": Open to all horses and riders.
OPEN HUNTER 2'6": Open to all horses & riders.
SHORT STIRRUP HUNTER 2': Open to riders 12 yrs. & under, on horses or ponies, in their first or
second year of showing over fences higher than 18" in any horse show. Participation in once
around/twice around or beginner & crossrail classes will not count as part of these 2 yrs as long as the
jump height does not exceed 18". Riders may show in Short Stirrup classes for 2 consecutive years. A
rider on a pony may cross-enter only into Schooling Pony and age group equitation. A rider on a horse
may cross enter only into Pre-Children's and age group equitation. Short Stirrup riders may not enter
any equitation medal classes. Riders may enter non-recognized classes where fence heights do not exceed
2' for ponies & 2'6" for horses. Riders may not enter "under saddle" or "flat" classes that do not fall
within these parameters.
LONG STIRRUP EQUITATION 2'3": Open to Amateur riders and Junior riders, 13 yrs. & older, on
horses or ponies in their 1st. or 2nd. yr. of showing over fences higher than 18" in any horse show. Adult
riders who are re-entering the show ring after an absence of 5 yrs. or more may compete in this division.
An Amateur rider may cross enter only into Pre-Adult Hunter but not enter any equitation medal classes.

SHJG MEDAL FOR JUNIORS ON PONIES: Fences 2' or 2'6". Must be SHJG member and not have
won a SHJG pony metal final in the past 3 years. Medal classes are open to all riders to be shown over a
modified jumper-type course of at least 8 fences. O/F will count for 75%, flat will count 25%. Riders
must earn either 2 blue ribbons or accumulate 20 points to quality for the year-end medal finals class.
SHJG MEDAL FOR JUNIORS ON HORSES: Fences 2' or 2'6". Must be SHJG member and not have
won a SHJG horse medal final in the past 3 yrs. Medal classes are open to all riders to be shown over a
modified jumper-type course of at least 8 fences. O/F will count for 75%, flat will count 25%. Riders
must earn either 2 blue ribbons or accumulate 20 points to qualify for the year-end medal finals class.
BILL RUSSELL ADULT MEDAL: Fences 2' or 2'6" (18 & over). Must be SHJG members and not have
won a SHJG adult medal final in the past 3 years. Medal classes are open to all riders to be shown over a
modified jumper -type course of at least 8 fences. O/F will count 75%, flat will count 25%. Riders must
earn either two blue ribbons or accumulate 20 points to qualify for the year-end medal finals class.
SHJG EQUITATION CHALLENGE: Flat only. Open to any junior on horse or pony. The judge must
walk/trot/canter the riders both ways before any cuts may be made. They then have to ask the riders to
do 5 out of 11 tests. The test options are: Sitting trot, halt, back, turn on forehand/haunches, counter
canter, change of lead (simple or flying), pattern, no stirrups, swap horses, ask a question. Riders
accumulate points all year long and the top 20 riders will compete at finals. At Finals a written test must
be taken no later than Saturday night. In the lineup, test scores will be combined with riding score
(50/50). Part of the proceeds from this class goes to the SHJG Juniors Committee.
EQUITATION 11 and under: Fences 2'.
SCHOOLING PONY HUNTER: Fences 2' or 2'6". May jump either height at the rider
or trainer's discretion. Open to Junior riders only.
PEGASUS SPECIAL CLASSES
CHALLENGED RIDER DIVISION: Open to all riders, of any age, with special needs. Riders in these
classes may not enter any other classes other than Showmanship or Model. Handlers may walk closely
with their riders in the arena.
LEADLINE WALK/TROT: Open to beginner riders on suitable ponies/horses led by a competent
helper. Riders to trot one at a time & may be asked to drop/pickup reins or stirrups. First through sixth
placings with teddy bear to winner. Riders may not show in other classes except walk/halt.
COSTUME CLASS : Open to all riders in Halloween costumes.
