Not because they were in a car accident, Not because they were gunned down, Not because their time had come, not even because they weren’t in the hospital, but simply because they couldn’t obtain a transplant in time. 15 people will die because the organ transplant they need will not be possible. HOW TO BECOME A DONOR • Step 1. Sign Your Driver's License or NonDriver ID. • Step 2. Enroll in the New York State Organ and Tissue Donor Registry. • Step 3. Discuss your decision with your family BRENT’S STORY (Donor) • Brent Adams died on April 13, 1998 due to a car accident. • He was such a fighter and loved life. • Brent’s organs helped five people. TONG’S STORY (Recipient) • Tong had a serious congenital heart disease. • She got a heart in Oct, 2000. • She is totally different after her transplant. Her lips, fingers and toes are pink.
