What is SOLARIUM?
SOLARIUM is located across the road from the
Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in
Liberia, Guanacaste region, Costa Rica.
It is the first project focused on providing a
services and industrial and commercial
environment in the area.
The Guanacaste region, located at the
northwestern part of Costa Rica, is the most
dynamic province in the national economy and
is the fastest growing area, targeted by the
government for growth in tourism and business
development in the future.

More than just a real estate development…
The total area of the SOLARIUM project is a little
over eleven million square feet. It has 0.65 miles
of frontage and is 0.63 miles deep.
It is is a multifunctional project that is designed
and will be developed in harmony with nature
by one of the most experienced and reputable
Costa Rican developers.
It is designed with the protection and
preservation of nature in mind. For this reason,
50% of its total area is devoted to landscaping.

SOLARIUM currently has a functioning worldclass logistics center, a mixed-use development
consisting of retail, office and residential spaces
and a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel.
Soon to be completed is a three-story office
building.
With the master plan there is adequate space
for light and heavy industrial manufacturing, as
well as the expansion of the retail, warehousing
and commercial development.

Develop with innovation
SOLARIUM has recently become a member of
the society for Science and Technology parks
and, with two universities already situated in the
development, is currently in the process of
creating the first Science and Technology Park in
Costa Rica.
The vision is to create clusters of industries and
an onsite research and development incubator.

SOLARIUM is only 7.5 miles away from
downtown Liberia and 124 miles or
approximately 2.5 hours from San Jose on the
improved highway.
It is located 20 miles from Papagayo and the five
star Four Seasons Hotel and in reasonable

luxury hotels and condominiums.
SOLARIUM is intended to generate a selfsufficient economy, creating resources that will
greatly benefit the region and the rest of the

The Daniel Oduber Quirós International
Airport (LIR) is Liberia, Costa Rica’s
airport and gateway to some of the
most spectacular and exclusive
destinations in Costa Rica.
A new terminal building is being built
to accommodate more international
arrival and departure flights, as well as
bigger airplanes.
There are plans to consider a cargo
terminal at the airport in the future.

The total area of the SOLARIUM Logistics Center
is 1,070,000 square feet. 374,500 square feet is
for storage and commercial purposes.
There are six types of facilities in the logistics
center, intended to meet the diverse needs of
the businesses it attracts.

SOLARIUM Village has been planned as a
multi-use development, incorporating
residential, commercial, hotel, office,
recreation and entertainment facilities.
They are integrated into a city designed with
sidewalks and a pedestrian friendly
environment intended to be attractive to the

SOLARIUM’s vision of the Corporate Center

planned to foster Scientific and Technological research

International Christian School, The Water Resources
Center, managed by National University, and a regional
office of TEC University, are already located in
SOLARIUM providing the impetus to develop the

Economy
Guanacaste and individual towns and developments
such as the “Golfo de Papagayo” have attracted a great
deal of investments and development in the last 10
years. While the rate of investment and development
has slowed, it continues even now.
Technology companies are settling in the area taking
advantage of the highly trained workforce that Costa
Rica offers. Ad Astra Rocket Company, located in the
campus of the University EARTH (The Flower), and
others are an example of this new trend.
There is a strong labor pool that continues to be
trained and developed.
