FAMILY BACKGROUND His mothers name was ‘Gangamai’ and father was Paygonda Patil.Though agriculture was the main occupation of his family, his father , preferred to work as a clerk in the revenue department of the government of Bombay. . Bhaurao Patil had a son named Appasaheb. Laxmibai was his wife. Bhaurao Patils wife Laxshmibai gave her valuable contribution to the Karmveer’s social work. She was known as “Vahini.” About Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Karmveer Bhaurao Patil is a great pragmatic educanist and an sage.Karmveer Bhaurao Patil is one of the seers of our India. He was associated with the work of mass education as early as 1909 at Duthagoan, dist Sangli.1959 marked the completion of 50 years of his monumental work .
