• To prepare you for the IELTS exam
• Band 5 or above
Assessment in Level 3
There are 12 grades given in level 3 in total
Integrated strand (8 grades - 70%)
Writing strand (5 grades -30%)
• 4 CGE Tests (30%)
• Coursework Grade (10%)
• 2 exams (Listening and Reading) – Midterm
and Final – (30%)
Integrated strand 4 Computer Generated Exam (30%)
• 1st CGE 3 %

• 35 VTL questions

- 8 Individual Reading Reports (3%)
1st CWG – 5% - due week 9
(1 group presentation and 1 individual reading

2nd CWG – 5% - due week 15 (1 group presentation
and 1 report per week )

How to pass IELTS
• WORK HARD!!!
• READ – go to the ILC, borrow books, do a lot of
IELTS reading practice
• LISTEN – watch TV in English, listen to L3 lectures,
use listening practice in the ILC
• WRITE – pay attention in your writing course,
visit the Writing Centre
• SPEAK – use any opportunity to speak English
(visit the Speaking Centre)
