It is hard to separate “All Saints” from “All Souls.” The liturgies deal with the faithful departed no maer where their

The church of St. John Lateran was originally a public meeng hall for the Roman people. On November 9, 324, the
building was dedicated as a church for the Chrisans. This was the ﬁrst public church building Chrisans were allowed to
have. Before that me, it was against the law in Rome to be a Chrisan. People were put to death for being Chrisan.
