Stirling Ultracold introduces the Model SU105U ultra low freezer,
a spacious 3.7 cu.ft. (105 liter) cabinet that delivers stable,
uniform -86°C storage at a fraction of the operating cost of
conventional cascade refrigeration systems.
Unique
The SU105U combines the performance
of a unique free-piston Stirling engine
with an efficient, thin-wall, non-CFC urethane foam and vacuum insulated cabinet.
This permits high-performance ultra low
storage capacity in an undercounter,
benchtop or stacked cabinet configuration.
Energy Efficient
The ultra low freezer operates on standard
115V, 60Hz AC. Engine power demand is
typically 150 watts, nominal. The Humm™
self-modulating cooling system demands
only 230 watts at ambient start-up and
decreases for most efficiency at its lowest
operating temperature.
The Stirling Swift™ integral control, alarm
and monitoring system includes an
intuitive graphic user interface to display
operating temperature, reserve cooling
capacity, status functions and performance
metrics for field troubleshooting.
Secure touchpad inputs permit access to
and programming for all control functions
and alarm setpoints. An available communications system interfaces with fixed
or web-based monitoring systems.
Installation options include undercounter,
benchtop, stacked or free-standing.

The SU105U operates without noisy refrigeration compressors or costly
cascade systems associated with ultra low temperature storage. Humm™
is a proven, dependable, maintenance-free heat transfer process that
is widely used in aerospace, energy and military applications for
cooling and power generation.
The Humm™ free-piston Stirling engine contains two moving parts
that float on helium gas bearings to eliminate contact wear. Freezing
is performed by continuous evaporation and condensation of the
cooling medium permanently sealed within the thermosiphon where
ultra low temperature is constant from top to bottom.

engine performance, cabinet history and reserve
cooling capacity.

The animated tachometer confirms reserve cooling
capacity in real time.
The thermosiphon is completely sealed with no moving parts,
and embedded within a composite non-CFC urethane foam and
vacuum-insulated panel cabinet wall. All cooling is accomplished by
a simple condensation and evaporation process dependent on the
thermodynamic properties of the cooling medium as it changes
phase from liquid to a gas and back again at different temperatures.
