Surveys
Please take five minutes to fill in our
surveys: the online survey has five
questions; a more detailed survey has
been emailed to our readership whose
names are in our database. Remembrance Day
Review with your learners why the poppy
is a symbol of remembrance. Read
“In Flanders Fields” written during the
First World War by Canadian physician
Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae (while
he was at war). http://www.warmuseum.
ca/cwm/exhibitions/remember/
flandersfields_e.shtml
Show the poppy pin. Teach learners how
to wear the pin: on the left lapel of a piece
of clothing and/or as close to the heart as
possible. Tell them poppies can be worn
from the last Friday in October
until November 11.
