Director’s Corner:
I want to begin by thanking you for your continued support of our school
and your encouraging words during my first month as principal. This
school has a welcoming and caring nature that is expressed among our
students, parents, and staff members. I want our parents to know that
our staff members are working very hard to carry out the mission and
vision for our school and that has made me convinced that Page Private
School’s future will continue to be bright.
Fall is upon us and it is hard for me to believe that we are already in the
month of November with the holiday season approaching. During this busy
time, it is also the month to reflect on what we are thankful for. I know my
list includes the best staff members and wonderful Page students and their
families.
This month has few dates to remember. November 11th is the Veteran’s Day. It will be an enrichment day for
students. We will have our Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, November 20th. The luncheon will begin at
11:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. Please come and enjoy our luncheon with your child. We will send out
detailed information soon.
We will have an enrichment week from November 24th to 26th. We will not
have any academics. School will be open and students may wear free
dress for the week. We will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the
Thanksgiving holiday.
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I want to wish our students, families,
and their loved ones a most joyful and blessed Thanksgiving.

Gobble Gobble Gobble! November is here! It's the most thankful time of the year!
On behalf of Page Private School thank you to all the parents for supporting our annual school carnival.

primary colors, letters, and shapes. Ps-A2 will continue name recognition, and pencil gripping technique,
which will help our little ones learn to trace. As always we would like to keep the line of communication
open, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to address them with Ms. Kay or Ms. Patty,
as we are here to help you and your child have a great experience at Page Private School.
Thanks in advance,
Ms. Kay & Ms. Patty

Happy November!
First of all I would like to share this quote with you, "There is always, always, always something to
be thankful for" -Author Unknown.
Thank you to all of you for your continued support! Parent Conferences and our Carnival was a success
and we couldn't have done it without you. This month our theme will focus on farm animals, fruits,
vegetables, and Thanksgiving. All arts and crafts will reflect these topics. In Literacy/Phonics we continue
identifying and printing beginning sounds. Our class goal is to master First/Last name printing as well as
printing letters A-Z and numbers 1-20. In Math we continue to focus on numbers 1-20 (printing, identifying
and comparing groups). We’ll slowly transition into time and using a calendar. Towards the end of the
month our class will have a special lunch you are all invited too. I will send out a specific memo with more
information. On another note...I'd like to Congratulate Jessica Besner, Morgan Keilly and Om Paturi our
students of the month.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Ms. Jesse
Junior Kindergarten 2
November already!! November is a time of the year that provides you a few weeks of rest before the rush
of the holiday season. November is going to be a great month for Junior-Kindergarten.
This month in Academics we will continue to use our Phonics and Literacy Books, we will practice
beginning sounds, in addition to mastering printing First and Last Names. In Math, we will work on
Identifying and Comparing Sets. We will continue working on numbers 1-20. Our art and group time will
focus on farm animals, fruits, vegetables, and Thanksgiving.
Parents, I know homework can be time consuming, however, it is important that your child try to do the
homework. Homework packages are given out on Monday, and should be turned in on the following
Monday. If your child needs more time to complete the homework and would like to turn it in later that
week, that’s fine, just please communicate that with me.
In conclusion our student of the month is Alani Hill, great job Alani! Thank you parents for all that you
do, as we strive to give your children the best start possible.
Ms. Hannah Pre-School A1
Greetings parents,
The year is almost over and we’ve had many academic accomplishments with your
children. We want to thank everyone that made it to the Halloween Carnival. It was a lot of fun and all of
the children looked cute and/or scary in their costumes. For the month of November our theme will be
"Health and Nutrition".
We will be discussing the different types of food. Healthy and non-healthy. We will be exercising and
getting to know more about the human body. Concepts of this month will be same/different and open/
close. Our colors for the month are: brown and yellow, and letters: I,J,K.
Thank you all for your time,
Ms. Jessica & Ms. Elizabeth
P hysical Education
& Computers
Greetings parents,
Another month has rolled by and I am glad to say that some good weather is on our side. The kids have
been enjoying the activities and games we’re playing in P.E. and I’ve noticed great participation and
enthusiasm. I have also seen some significant improvement in computer knowledge and navigation.
Physical education for this month will focus a little more on nutrition. Prior to our dynamic warm ups I will
have some small discussions with your child to get him/her informed on some healthy eating habits. As
usual we will have our upper and lower body stretches/workouts, and in any case of rainfall I have a few
indoor games that we can enjoy.
As I mentioned earlier, I have seen some improvement with navigation knowledge of computer programs.
With this growth I feel we can move on to something a little more complex. For the higher-grade levels I
will have some power point presentations planned that should cover; creating slides, inserting objects,
presenting in slide shows, and slide transitions. As for the lower grade levels I will expand their
knowledge of Microsoft word and have them start some typing, text editing, and file saving.
With your child’s full participation I know we will have another successful month here in P.E. and
computer class.

1st & 2nd Grade
1st/2nd Grade students continue doing a stellar job! Reminder, that the school bell rings at 8:15 am.
Students are expected to be at school on time every day! Thank you to all the parents who joined us for
our Greek theme Special Person Luncheon and our Halloween Carnival!
Spelling:
Students are expected to study their spelling words throughout the week, so that they are prepared to take
the test by Friday. You may be wondering, how can I help my child become a better speller? Here are some
things you can try at home with your child to help him/her learn this essential skill!
1. Have your child draw pictures for each of the spelling words. Have them write the word below the
picture.
2. Create a word search with their spelling words. Use the following website to create a word search:
http://www.abcya.com/make_a_word_search.htm
3. Together, use Scrabble tiles to spell the words.
4. Dictate the spelling words and have your child spell the words.
The character trait for the month of October is “Honesty”. We will be having discussions
throughout the month about the quality of honesty, and ways to incorporate honesty in the
home, school, and community life.
Happy Reading!
Ms. Reyes
Pre-School B
This year is quickly coming to an end and we have so much to be thankful for. This month, we will have
many discussions about the importance of giving, sharing and helping others, to help build and enhance
your child's character development. We will continue to work on our small motor skills by practicing
number/letter tracing and coloring as well. Also, the children will have the opportunity to learn about the
food pyramid guidelines, health and nutrition, along with fitness and exercise.
Parents, we appreciate all of your participation and efforts last month. The children really enjoyed the
festivities and the "fun of dressing up!” Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
With sincere thanks,
Ms. Tonia
Kindergarten
November brings many new learning experiences for our kindergartners. It’s a special time for family and
friends to gather together and give thanks for all the wonderful blessings received throughout the year. We
will discuss how the pilgrims sailed on the Mayflower ships to begin a new life in America. They became
friends with the Native Americans, who taught them ways to survive on this land. They celebrated with a
Thanksgiving feast! In academics, we will continue to review short vowels, addition, and subtraction.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Ms. Fernandez
3rd – 6th Grade
Fall is officially here, and winter is not far behind!
In Math, 3rd grade will be finishing addition and subtraction, and will now move onto adding and
measurement.
In Social Studies we will be studying about the history of the earliest Americans. We will also discuss the
impact that Native Americans had on Thanksgiving history.
Please remember that all reading logs should be filled out every night and turned in each Monday in order
to receive an extra grade. Students did an excellent job on their book report presentations. Keep up the
good work! Encourage your child to read, read, read, and of course read at home.
In Science, 3rd grade will discover what matter is, and why and how it changes its state. We will enjoy
experimenting with the states of matter. 4th grade will explore the magnetic poles.
5th grade will learn about measurement and integers in math. We will discover the different structures of
living things in Science. 6th grade will be working on division and equations and we will investigate how
plate movement shaped California in Science. It's going to be very interesting and enjoyable!
November is a time to be thankful for having a wonderful group of children to teach and inspire. Have a
wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hector & Ms. Mary
