WAIKANAE BAP IST Knowing God, touching lives CHURCH A warm welcome to our church family this morning. We hope you will enjoy your time with us and that God will touch your life in a new and meaningful way. Sunday 9th November 2014 Pastor Nigel Scott [email protected] Associate Pastor Matt Swank [email protected] Children, Families Ministry Don Macfarlane [email protected] Community Ministry Don Macfarlane [email protected] HOPE PROJECT Have you checked out the 10 Day Challenge resources? I invite you to do so, you will be impressed. Go to www.10daychallenge.co.nz . Down the left side of the screen you will see a series of numbers (1-10). Click on those numbers to look at the subjects covered in the 10 Day Challenge. They include: Christian Faith – a relationship with a God you cannot see The Bible – learning about a God you cannot see Church – Having friends on the same journey Faith that triumphs life’s storms Don’t forget the Q & A section which includes 20 short DVDs which speak to many of the common questions non-Christians ask about Christian faith. Most of all don’t forget to talk to your neighbours, friends, workmates and ask them what they thought about the material they’ve seen (the TV ads, the booklet). Perhaps, because we’ve discovered that sections of Waikanae don’t seem to have received a delivery, you could ask them if they have a booklet and give them one if they don’t. I have spoken to the Hope Project Team about this. Non-delivery in some areas of a town or city seems to be an issue around the country and they are encouraging churches to plug the gaps by delivering by hand to areas that don’t seem to have been covered. To that end I have ordered another 500 booklets for us to deliver in our street or area. If you don’t think your street has received a delivery why don’t you grab a handful of booklets from the foyer cupboard next Sunday and deliver them to every household in the street – bar those that have ‘no junk mail’ stickers? P RAY E R MAINLY MUSIC Mainly Music is a fun time with parents ( Mums Mainly) loving the interaction with their kids through music. With themes such as colours, movement and rhythm the toddlers are adding to their learning processes. As relationships are being built between parents-grandparents, some mums are now asking for prayer from the leaders. And a couple have come along to church. One mum told us how that when she and another mum recently took their almost 5 year olds to "Kickstart" program at Kapanui School their girls started singing "Cause Jesus loves me" during mat time. They had sung this at Mainly Music in the morning. We can but admire their faith. Please pray for: 1. The ongoing deepening of relationships between parents, grand parents and the MM team. 2. The God Spot to have a more obvious effect on all the parents. 3. The people coming to continue asking for prayer. 4. Good health and fitness for the MM team. 5. The upcoming special Christmas programme on Dec 8 and the Zippity Zoo. 6. The parents now starting to come to church will deepen their relationship with Christ BAPTIST ASSEMBLY Nigel and Wendy will be away at Assembly in Paihia this week from Wednesday to Sunday.
