Thank you! Thank you for all the cards, letters and gifts that you showered me with during Pastor Appreciation Month. Thank you church, for a wonderful luncheon and a most generous gift given in my honor, you have warmed my heart beyond words! Thank you! The Women’s Conference was a huge success! Over 100 ladies from 10 Veteran’s Day different local churches attended a Office Closed morning filled with song and spiritual Lifeline Screening growth. We all look forward to their next by appt. only event! CARE Ministry Visits The WOM Food Drive for Project S.E.R.V.E. also did very well! It looks like Men’s Breakfast Youth Community everyone participated in our “Can Service Project Sunday” in which everyone was to bring at least one can or non-perishable item to No Evening activities church. Your generous hearts continue to Thanksgiving amaze me! Holiday This past month 31 of our Youth went on Office Closed their annual Grace Bible Camp Retreat. Thanksgiving This year live worship music was added Holiday Office Closed by Elena Alvarado and Matt Limbrick that Thanksgiving brought the sound of our Youth lifting their Celebration Meal voices up in worship. A truly moving Hanging of the experience! Greens, Tree of Lights Ceremony Building and Grounds completed the roof & Chrismon Tree replacement on both wings in October; Presentation God’s house is now dry! We should also First Sunday of have the damaged tiles replaced by Advent Thanksgiving. This year our annual Thanksgiving meal is being held on Saturday Night after Thanksgiving in conjunction with a New “Hanging of the Greens” service, Chrismon Tree and Tree of Lights presentation. Your Church Council felt that the beauty of trees is best felt at night and we wanted to include the importance of “greens” in the Advent Celebration. Please mark your calendars to attend starting with Thanksgiving dinner at 5:30 pm. When I first came here I heard of a story of one of our members coming to church everyday to raise a flag and came back each night to take it down. It was his way of reminding himself, and our members, that it was a privilege to live in a country that allowed him to worship at this church his way. As we approach Veterans’ Day and we are reminded of all our members, past and present, that gave so much that you and I might enjoy that same freedom, I’m proud to say that an American flag flies again on our grounds. I hope you will look at our calendar and make plans to attend some of the wonderful events plan for the upcoming season. This is a very loving church and the fellowship is so sweet. Make plans to be with us! On the Journey Together! You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box. Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child. Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation. Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and bring it to church on Sunday, November 9th. Our goal is to collect 100 shoeboxes. December Poinsettias During the month of December, we will be decorating our sanctuary with poinsettias. Colors available are Red and White. Order forms will be available in the museum area beginning November 9th. Order forms will need to be turned in to Tina Lynn, Shannon Carter, Terri Baca or the church office by November 23rd. The cost is $10 per poinsettia. From the Mailbox: The family of Wanda K. Loving would like to express their sincere thanks to all of you for the cards, visits, phone calls and prayers we received following our sudden loss. Your kindness and support has helped us cope at this sad and difficult time. Also we thank each of you who made a memorial contribution in Wanda's name. It was so much appreciated. A special thanks to Pastor Gary for all his concern and dedication to the family and for conducting her service. We will never forget your kindness and we pray the Lord will bless and keep you all in his care The Loving Family Not a typical thank you card; but I couldn’t resist. Artie would have loved it and yes, this too shall pass. The hurt will mostly go away and we will be left with our memories. Thank you members of Bethel. You have rallied around me and provided much needed support. It would be impossible for me to thank each and everyone of you. Thank you for the cards, donations, help, and most of all, thank you for love. We all miss Artie (Bernard) and will, but we have glorious memories of his work spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ whom he loved with all his heat.
