ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT
Academic Enrichment is a brand new committee
dedicated to a greater focus on academic affairs,
offering numerous resources to scholars:
Tutor ing Program
Alumni scholars have already presented themselves with academic diligence. Through the tutoring program, we hope to leverage their hard work and provide our scholars with an additional resource in their studies. We've hand picked tutors from both ASC and other campus organizations who are genuinely interested in the subject they aim to teach, and have already gone through the course with flying colors. Notes Bank
With the Notes Bank, we aim to gather a database of information presented in different classes for our scholars as an additional resource when studying. Being a new program, our resources will progressively grow as scholars contribute to this database. 2
The Scholar Report Alumni Scholars have been involved with numerous projects and research endeavors. Through the Scholar Report, we hope to bring about a platform that allows scholars to present their work or research in a gathering at the end of each quarter. This allows for scholars to practice their public speaking skills, earn 6 hours of service credit, and most importantly share their work with their peers in ASC.

event at which mentors and mentees meet for
the first time; general guidelines for the program
are discussed and mentors and mentees kickoff
their relationship!
Cookies and Careers: AMP's largest
professionalism event; numerous mentors
moderate hands-on workshops during which
mentor/mentee pairs work together to develop
the mentee's professionalism skills including selfbranding, resume writing, interview skills,
LinkedIn, etc.; Diddy Riese cookies will be
provided!
Additionally, AMP offers smaller workshops for
mentees to enhance their professionalism skills
as well as volunteer and casual social events for

BUNCHE COMMITTEE
Dr. Ralph J. Bunche was a Diplomat, Scientist, Scholar, and Nobel Peace Prize
winner. His legacy began at UCLA, where he participated in many diverse
activities. Throughout his lifetime, Bunche served as a member of Roosevelt’s
Black Cabinet, held a position as the secretary and ambassador for the US under
the United Nations and supported the founding and operation of the NAACP. He
was also an active member of the civil rights movement and helped lead Martin
Luther King Jr.’s campaign for equality.
This committee aims to help promote cultural awareness, tolerance, and social
justice for all communities within the Alumni Scholars Club and UCLA at large. We

INTERNAL CAMPUS
VOLUNTEERS
Giving Back To UCLA
The Internal Campus Volunteers (ICV) committee integrates the love of
volunteering with the love of being a Bruin. Our goal is to get scholars
involved in the UCLA community by providing accessible service
opportunities that also help fulfill ASC's community service requirement. In
doing so, ICV connects scholars to a wide variety of campus organizations
while promoting ASC as an available source of volunteers campus-wide.
Locks of Love
ICV's biggest event held every February is the annual Locks of Love event.
Participants from UCLA and the Los Angeles community gather at the James
West Alumni Center to donate their hair to children with medically related
hair loss while receiving complementary professional haircuts. In recent years,
the event has donated approximately 2,000 inches of hair yearly and
continues to reach further.

away from illicit and other high risk
behaviors in this after school program.
In addition, there will be an on

which all scholars are invited to
participate and mentor students while
showing them our beautiful campus.
