Special Event: 2015 Southeast Calvary Chapel Pastor’s Conference Mark your calendars....January 19-21, 2015. It’s not too early to start praying about where the Lord would have you serve at the Pastor’s Conference. If you’d like to volunteer, please visit the conference table in the Fellowship Hall to sign up today. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for every child and volunteer in our classrooms. In order to protect the children from illness and disease, please do not bring your children to class if they have been sick within the last 24 hours. Please note that even if your child does not show symptoms when it is time to go to church, if they have had them within the last 24 hours they may still be contagious. If your child is already in class and we notice that he or she is sick, you will be paged from the service and asked to take your child out of the class. You may sit in our designated Family Seating Area in the fellowship hall if your child is ill. Thank You for your cooperation! Without Excuse “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…” Romans 1:18-20 The Bible offers man no excuses. God is going to judge ungodliness (man’s wrongdoing in his relationship to God) and unrighteousness (man’s wrong action against his fellow man) and man will have absolutely no excuse for either. He won’t be able to plead ignorance because as Paul points out, every man has a God-given internal knowledge of the truth. General knowledge about God as well as a sense of right and wrong, of good and evil is available to every man. No matter where you travel on this planet you find that people have a God-consciousness. Even the most primitive tribes have a sense that there is a Supreme Being. God has also revealed Himself externally through His creation. We see the fingerprint of God in nature. It is God’s handiwork. Yet some would have us believe that all of life is a result of pure chance. Are we to believe that such a delicate and complex organ as the human eye “just happened?” No! Design in creation clearly speaks to us of a Designer. The more man discovers, the more he discovers an astonishing degree of design. For example, what used to be called the “simple cell,” now, through DNA research, is known to contain a staggering complexity! Enough is available in and around man for him to see that there is a Creator and that the Creator is the moral governor of this world. Man knows the truth but deliberately suppresses it! Why? The root of the problem is sin. If man were to recognize God he would have to deal with his sin. Rather than do away with his own ungodliness and unrighteousness he does away with God. Discarding the revelation of God darkens man’s heart and blinds him to any true spirituality. This is the picture of mankind so clearly outlined in Romans chapter one. Man does away with God so he can live however he wants to live while offering any number of excuses: “I can’t help it, I was born this way,” “Don’t blame me, it’s the way I was raised,” and on and on. Yet the Bible is clear, “…They are without excuse.” -From Teaching #5076 available in the Bookstore. November 9, 2014 - November 15, 2014
