Getting Started at the University of the Sunshine Coast 2015 Integrated Learning Pathways Unit Congratulations on gaining a place in the Integrated Learning Pathways Unit. Welcome to USC Before you begin: While studying with us at USC, there are three online services that you will be able to access using the username and the password provided in your USC letter of offer. It’s important you become familiar with these services to manage your progress and support your studies: USC Central USC Portal (Blackboard) USC Central is one of the most important online services that you will use during your student career. The USC Central Guide on the USC website provides demonstration videos and tutorials about the 3 steps to get started, plus more! Student USC Mail This is where you view your enrolment, provide and amend your personal/contact details, finances (fees), grades (results) and class timetable. Find help at usc.edu.au/bbhelp This is where USC communicates important information to you. You are required to check your student email account at least once a week. For more information visit usc.edu.au/ITsupport Follow these 3 easy steps to get started with your study at USC. 1 Get online at USC How to log in to USC Central: 1 Access USC Central at: usccentral.usc.edu.au 2.Enter the username and initial password from your letter of offer to login 3.Your Student Centre will now be displayed In your Student Centre you are able to: •Complete compulsory To-Do List • Confirm that you have been enrolled by viewing your class schedule (timetable) •View your fees and print your invoice •Maintain your personal contact details • View your grades (results) •Change the initial password provided in your letter of offer Password change: For security reasons, your initial password provided in your letter of offer should be changed to a new one of your choice after you have checked your enrolment. You are required to check your USC student email account at least once a week. This is where you will find official correspondence and important information. To access your student email, go to login.microsoftonline.com. In the Office 365 login screen enter your student email address provided in your offer letter and password to view your email and calendar. You also have a second Personal Microsoft account that allows access to SkyDrive and other Microsoft services. For more information visit usc.edu.au/ITsupport 3 Student fees and identification Students can pay their fees for the ILPU program by following the steps at usc.edu.au/payfees to generate an invoice and pay by the fees due date. Invoices are not posted to students. Note: Students may receive partial funding towards their tuition. These students do not need to apply for the funding as it will automatically applied to your student account. Get your student identification (ID) card If you choose to use USC’s facilities, you will need a USC Student ID to: •access USC computer labs •borrow items from the USC Library •use USC copying and printing services To have your photo taken and get your ID card: •Visit Student Central, Ground floor, Building C, Sippy Downs campus, and • Bring photographic identification (school ID card, driver’s licence or passport) If you want an ID card but can’t get to USC during office hours please email [email protected] for advice on how to obtain one.
