These classes have been developed to help individuals cope with potential falls and include a combination of strength and balance exercises that will help increase general mobility, endurance and balance. Osteoporosis Video-Led Exercise Mondays & Thursdays, 10:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m Led by: Doris Backlund 1. Who Can attend the FREE classes? Anyone over the age of 65 can join a free class. At your first class you will need to bring your OHIP card and complete a registration form and you will be contacted by the local Community Care Access Centre for an assessment. If you are under 65 years of age, a minimal pre-paid class fee of $2.50 will be applicable and a $30 membership fee per year. 2. How many classes can I attend per week? As a requirement of this funding we ask that all participants try their best to attend a minimum of two classes per week. You can mix and match classes like: Feldenkrais on Monday , Zumba Toning on Thursday, etc... This group uses an instructed video designed specifically for those with Osteoporosis. It incorporates light weightbearing, sitting and standing exercises.
