The snowbirds are returning, welcome back! The
GPS classes are starting back up and so are the potlucks on the outings, seems we are really getting
back into the old swing of things, YEA!!!!
At our Oct. meeting we talked about doing the potluck for the Christmas party again, seems we have a
good thing going with this club. So for club members only ( no guests) S.M.T.H. will be having the
party on Monday, Dec.1st. Remember, there is a $5
deposit per member attending the party. We have a
sign up list for the party of what you want to bring.
So we don’t have too many of one thing and not
enough of the other.

INFORMATION
We had many guests as well as new members in attendance. Again it
was mentioned “NO SMOKING ON SCHOOL GROUNDS”. Dan explained why we have sign up sheets. We now have an Outings
Leader: John Butt. Thank you very much. Mary Ose passed away late
summer. More info will be provided at the Nov. about the Christmas
Party.
We are still in need for someone to bring the potty to the monthly outings. Please see Dan and tell him you would just love to pull the potty!

Apache Junction Search & Rescue
GPS CLASS
The GPS class will be on Nov.8th. It cost
$10 to join in and learn how to use your
GPS and be safe.
The class has to have 4 club members and
no more than 8. You will need a Garmin
hand held GPS, compass and grid writer.
The GPS classes will be held the Saturday
after the meeting at Promack T.H. The
classes usually run from 9AM until
about 3PM. It’s a great class to
take to be sure you understand
how your GPS works and you can
find your way around.
At the March meeting it was talked about if
someone were to go out by themselves to
please call the AJ Search & Rescue to let
them know where and how long they plan on
being out in the desert hiking or prospecting,
that way if something unforeseen happens
they would have a good idea where to start
looking for them. Roger came in with the
phone number to call: it is 520-333-SSAR
and leave a message, when they return
please let them know so no one is out looking
for someone that has returned safely.
